Well, not officially announced or anything but Namco Bandai say it is a possibility. http://bit.ly/hWTXRd

Did anyone play this? I was so tempted but there was a lot of other stuff around at the time. May see if I can pick it up on the cheap.

Does it deserve a follow up?

It was a pretty good game. It looked amazing, the characters were awesome and everything seemed to run pretty smoothly. It was nothing to write home about, but it did a decent job of entertaining me.

That said, they shouldn't give it a sequel. It ended just fine (And a little anti-climatic) and tied up almost all the loose ends.

I found the videos of how it was made very interesting. The mo-cap with Andy Serkis is good to watch.

I'm unsure as to whether or not I'd like to see a sequel made. I absolutely loved the game, the characters were engaging, and I actually enjoyed watching through the cutscenes and their interactions. And the scenery was incredible, there was so much detail put into it. And the mo-cap. My word, the motion capture was incredible. I am often put off games when people start talking and the words don't match the mouth movements, but Enslaved did an amazing job of making facial expressions seem real

That being said, there were a few problems with gameplay, which could be ironed out in a sequel

However, I felt that there isn't really anywhere that the story could be taken without feeling contrived. Pretty much everything was wrapped up quite nicely, with only one loose string, but it worked being left to your imagination

Instead of a sequel, I would like to see the developers make another game of equal, or even better, quality. As long as the same gameplay elements are there, I trust them to create a new story that is equally compelling. And if they hired Andy Serkis again, that would seal the deal for me, I thought that his acting was phenomenal in Enslaved

Exceedingly average game with great characters, a good story, and an amazing ending. Seriously, it is most poignant.

If they make a sequel, here's to hoping that they focus more on gameplay. As it stands, the "cloud" sections are dreadful, and the game has pretty much zero replayability.

Enjoying it so far, but more for the characters and story rather than the gameplay, which is decidedly average.

I enjoyed the game but it was pretty average. I would hope they integrate cutscenes into the action much smoother in the sequel. Such as in the demo, it was hard to get into the flow because they kept taking control away from the character. uncharted 2 did a much better job of it with me often "playing" the cutscenes instead of half-dropping the controller every time they came up.

And something I don't like which seems to becoming a bit of a trend: losing the ability to jump unless you're in a jump spot. Noticed the same thing in Bulletstorm, which made hoping over cover annoying. Unless you're standing in exactly the right spot, nothing. For a game centered around jump puzzles, it was weird not having the ability in Enslaved. And while I enjoyed not falling to my death every 10 minutes, that is sort of the perils of platforming.

I think it would cheapen the ending to give the game a sequel. They are working on a fairly substantial dlc, but it is focused on Pigsy. I hated that character.

I felt this game could have been good, but the easy combat, health regeneration and repetitive animations made the last few levels a chore. The final boss fight, without giving too much away, didn't feel like it took place at the end of the story for a number of reasons. The story did end though, and a sequel would be pointless, as the game was based on an epic chinese poem.

As long as they learn that the interest of the story is with the two central characters and their development, and that the story's theme didn't need to become the actual fucking story.

(The ending pissed me off, if you can't tell.)

That came out weeks ago.

Really? I heard it was being worked on and then never heard anything else.
I wasn't planning on playing it anyway. As much as I loved Enslaved, I hated Pigsy. The way they clumsily threw his eccentricities in your face was just jarring.

Agreed, although I did find him funny, but his presence diluted the relationship between Trip and Monkey.

Well, this looks even less likely now as Enslaved only sold 460,000 copies worldwide (Souce: http://bit.ly/dL9LHL )

That's less than half of Minecrafts sales.

Poor Monkey. :(
