Right, so people have asked what's the toughest/easiest/wackiest boss fight. But I want to know on sheer epicness. Not just did you feel the massive sense of accomplishment or what have you. but rather, the boss fights that made you just go "WHOA" or "WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!" during all the craziness.

For me I've got a top three:

3) The Borodin from Star Lancer. That was just the biggest ever multi stage fight I'd ever gotten in.

2) Saren from Mass Effect. That was just nuts, especially if didn't have the PAragon or Renegade score for it.

1) The most epic boss fight for me was the beat down on the ArchDemon in Dragon Age. I was totally yelling and screaming throughout the whole fight. Big hint here: Dwarves are awesome, and not just at drinking their assess off.

A lot of the boss fights from the DMC games and Bayonetta are all awesome.

The bosses in the God of War series are usually pretty epic
maybe not the most powerful or difficult
but definately some of the most visually impressive

I agree with Bayonetta. Also, I enjoyed the epicness on the final battle of Max Payne 2. The final level was on such an operatic yet human scale that it just awesome when the finale came down.

Baby Bowser in Yoshi's Island, when he is closing in on you more and more. It's terrifying!

Metroid Prime 2's bosses are tougher.

I second Saren. Not only the encounter itself was cool, but the atmosphere, the music and the enormous battle going on outside really added to the urgency and drama of the fight.

Clearly you haven't played Fable 2, hardest boss fight ever :>

OT: A really epic one? Hmm, Metroid Prime 1/2/3 is always epic boss fights, I liked the last stage for Brutal Legend with
the huge snake-ish heads that you had to get down and then ram the car into it and kill him of and such

Doom Dragon comes up...

Beating my Rival in the original E4 felt pretty damn epic.

Oh and who can forget this guy? [http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ-a28vTtlU0FZzSgve6ejF2owNKkrKKpXEySeqEo6_Q2xZeewA&t=1]

Ganon from OoT. It's THE most epic boss fight I've experienced ever. No contest.

I agree with this. I still get chills in the Climax of ME1.

someone might slap me, but to be completely honest, one of the final bosses from a sonic game (and I don't mean a 2D sonic game).

-Fighting Thanatos in Ghost of Sparta along side Kratos' brother was pretty damn awesome, seeing as it's two Spartans vs the god of fucking death whose turned into a giant winged demon monster thing.

-Galbalan from Ys3, hard mofo but pretty epic. He likes to mix in some bullet hell game play into your action RPG. He's a gigantic...thing with an awesome battle theme and will totally kick your ass if you don't know what you're doing. And he just simply dwarfs you in size.

-Chaos from Dissidia was made of pure awesome, I mean...it doesn't get much better than fighting the fucking devil. And a devil voiced by Keith David no doubt. He's tough, but not an entirely cheap asshole....only when he uses Shinryu. And at will he can fly out of the stage, grown a good 100 feet tall, and start busting your ass with swords that make Clouds look like a tooth pick.

Can't wait to see if he's changed in any way in Duodecim....or see if Desperado Chaos is just as awesome.

I just got through playing Shenmue again and I have to say that, if it counts, the 70 man battle culminating in the fight with Terry's right hand man is pretty epic. I love that game.

Bayonetta. Every boss fight really felt like a boss fight (massive scale, loads of health, yada yada) and the final boss...most amazingly epic fight in the history of gaming, and the most fantastic end to a boss fight.

That game, for me, just tops any other. I mean, come on,

punching what is effectively God into the sun? Just...too amazingly brilliant for words to describe.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes had epic bosses which were as tough as nails. So epic, and so tough, that the third game disappointed me a little.
The Amorbis with its total massiveness and laser firing awesomeness, necessitating internal infiltration destruction just made me go, 'woah.'

That is, once I attempted it about ten times. Game was HARD.

Then, of course, you've got Bayonetta. Motorcycle into space and punch god into the sun and all that.
