Chaos in Dissidia: Final Fantasy, 3 fucking times.

Took me so many tries, he kept slamming me at ground level so it was impossible to get more Brave Points. Eventually I just jumped into the air straight away and kept spamming Jecht Shots.

I have to say most epic was Shiro from Guild Wars: Nightfall. He wasn't the final boss but we traded blows without dieing for ten minutes while my party got the bonus for us.

The Hydra boss in God Of War. Its the first one but the fight is just awesome, and to kill it you have to,
Impale it's head through a spike created from the mast of the ship, by using your swords to drag it down. That is before you drop two anchors on the other two heads.

I would have to say... Lezard Valenth from Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria.

The very end, the part where he has his own little sparkle world. One hit from him if you're the wrong person and you're SERIOUSLY gone.

Akuma/Gouki from Super Street Fighter II Turbo/X: Grand Master Challenge. To face him, you have to reach the final stage without losing a single round on default difficulty or higher, something only the most skilled players can manage. When you arrive, the game proceeds as though you're going to fight Bison as scheduled, but then Akuma/Gouki jumps in, kills Bison and proceeds to mess up your face with air fireballs, ramped up speed and attacks that deal obscene amounts of damage.

Shade of Aran in WoW as a semi-epic MMO battle. Do not move when Flame Wreath is cast...ever.

I agree with the KH2 final battle.

The first Ridley fight Metroid Prime 3 was very epic.

I have several, arranged by category:

Most epic feeling battle: The Alien Warship from Crysis. This wasn't the toughest boss fight ever, even on the hardest difficulty, but it certainly felt epic. You, mano a mano with a big, huge badass alien ship, including the staredown in the rain against each other before the fight. And of course, a hugely satisfying explosion upon its defeat. Quite epic.

Most annoying/frustrating boss: Seymour Flux from FFX. This guy will just not DIE. Four times you have to kill him, and his third incarnation, Flux, is by far the toughest. Once you get the hang of it, he's not THAT hard to beat, but my first few times, this guy was down right teeth-gnashing, expletive spewing, console stompingly frustrating. Angelus from Drakengard 2 is also close on the list, but this guy is still king of this category.

Most satisfying boss kill: Tomegatherion from Body Harvest. So this guy has been harassing you since the beginning of level one, blowing up bridges, shooting up your boats, blowing up critical stuff, and just generally being a bastard. Get to the last level, and this guy morphs into the mother of all cybernetic superbugs. Take him down, and he reverts back to his humanoid form, spewing yellow blood and begging you not to kill him. But instead of a cinematic hogging all the fun, you get to walk right up to him, and put a bullet from your favorite gun right into him! HUGELY satisfying.

Most crazy insane difficult boss ever: Megahulk from Descent. The Descent series has always been known for tough levels, tough enemies, and absurdly tough boss fights. However, the toughest boss they have is still the final boss from the first game, the Megahulk. Five mega missile tubes, a cloaking device, teleporter, and an endless army of robot minions give this guy the sole distinction of being the only boss to ever take me down with full cheats active. This guy is so tough and takes so much punishment, my invincibility cheat expired without my noticing, resulting in a very quick death. I never could beat him legit. Bar none, toughest fight I've ever taken on.

I really liked the boss battles in Lost Planet, they were pretty unique and challenging.

A tough choice. There's been so many memorable boss fights. A couple standouts would be the duel with Kratos from Tales of Symphonia, Quadraxis from Metroid Prime 2, and Wesker from Resident Evil 5. I won't get into the context much of the duel between Lloyd and Kratos, but suffice to say, it is truly a crowning moment of awesome. The pre-fight conversation followed up by an incredibly fast-paced duel with an amazing song to back it up (The End of a Thought) made it more memorable than the final boss fight.

There were a ton of great fights in the Metroid Prime Trilogy, but Quadraxis had enough foreshadowing and buildup to really get you scared. In the Light world of Aether, you see these giant parts for a robot, and scanning them reveals that there were more than just one of them. And these pieces are huge. Then you get to the Dark World's boss chamber, and you see this giant quadruped robot that would make an AT-AT look conservative. The fight is long and arduous, but the weapon that you get from beating it is oh so sweet: the Annihilator Beam. Probably Metroid's coolest and overpowered weapons.

And then there's Wesker. The fight was kinda crappy because of RE5's idiotic controls, but the music, this crazy orchestral piece that sticks in your head, made it worth it. Plus being able to do a combo which has Chris brutally beating Wesker into next week is so gratifying to pull off, even if it's done with a freaking quicktime event. And I might as well put on this list the duel between Yuri and Flynn near the end of Tales of Vesperia. The fight's somewhat tough, but the music is once again an awesome and the dialogue between Yuri and Flynn is beyond hilarious. And if the controls weren't crap, the fight with Proxy near the end of the Force Unleashed was also awesome. Just when you think Proxy's used up all his holographic tricks, he breaks out Darth Maul. And then Duel of the Fates kicks in, and it leads to the best part of that level...right before the motherf**king Star Destroyer.

Boss fights are what we make of them. Some are epic, some aren't, and others are engraved in our minds forever.

Honestly, all of Shadow of the Colossus.
And, every Boss in God of War I and II. Still my favorite parts of those games.

Other games than those...

Darth Malak in KotOR
