Halo 2. Yes, over 7 years ago and I STILL remember it as the BEST multiplayer moment I've ever had. Completely random match of Team Slayer on Sanctuary, 8 strangers we were, the only time I can recount that matchmaking did a HELL of a job. We were all within two levels of each other, all equally skilled. NO ONE was being an asshole, harrassing or talking spiteful shit or racila slurs on either team. What ensued was a race to 50 kills that literally came down to 49 - 49, all 8 of us had comparable K/D ratios for the match (ie: if the team leader had 10 klls the fourth place person had 8, so no one person was carrying the lot.) I snagged the final kill with the Energy Sword and the postgame lobby was actually full of people on BOTH teams talking about how GREAT a game it was; no one talking shit or complaining, no one dropping N-bombs or being disrespectful; we all had genuine FUN and appreciated each other; I added 7 people to my friends list that day. It was EXACTLY what multiplayer was supposed to be.... how sad that the ideal is the EXTREME exception to the rule.
