I can only wish they would have used it more than they did. The Professor Layton soundtracks are fantastic.

Sprinkle in what is quite possibly one of the greatest main menu themes ever:
Ah, A fellow Turrican player...
Then you must have heard:

Indeed I have, and quite a good tune it is. I prefer the SNES version, though:

And to throw in more Turrican goodness:
I love the Super Turrican soundtrack, to say the least...

And, although this isn't directly from a game, I just have to add it for good measure:

I feel that Megaman X5 doesn't get nearly as much credit for it's awesome music as it deserves.

I'm going with an easy one. One Winged Angel from the final boss fight in Final fantasy 7. It is such an awesome song. Really made you feel like you were fighting an epic enemy.

Pretty sure this topic will have a good bit of FF songs on it. Square can make some great tunes!

jeesh there is some fucking epic music in here for sure.

as of late, i forgot which song it was from, maybe winter contingency, but in halo reach, the level after the cutscene
where they try and grab the girl and run and you and jorge go through that door and he shuts it and its dark
that fucking music was soo epic and got me so pumped to dominate that level with those elites

Well I really like Hell March 3 from Red Alert 3:

And the Battlefield Theme will always hold a special place in my heart.

And Hearts of Iron 2 has some suitably epic music as well.

All the music in that game is top-notch

Brütal Legend was full of epic music.
The idea for Brütal Legend was built upon epic music. Its a game about doing epic things in an epic world while epic music plays in the not quite so distant background. That game was epic.

Well it is good music but I prefer the one from Kingdom Hearts by far.

Well, let's be honest. ALL versions of One Winged Angel are awesome! Including this one:

Old-school is so much more awesome, especially when we're talking about Square's 16-bit glory days:

Believe me, limiting that to only one track from Final Fantasy VI was the very definition of agonizing over a decision---it was between Aria di Mezzo Carattere, Locke's Theme, and Forever Rachel.

Start at 0:30 and hear one of the many reasons why I love Conquests of the Longbow.

The reason why I love Soul Calibur 2's Colosseum stage above all others...

Zelda games have awesome tunes, no question. Here's one of them.

How has no one mentioned the quirky soundtracks of both Jet Grind Radio games and the tracks from the Katamari series? Several amazing soundtracks in there. Whether it is epic or not, is for you to decide.

And tons of others, look 'em up.

I really could be here forever though. Tons of games have amazing soundtracks.
