As I said in the Feminism thread--

"Equality does not exist-- deal with it."

If everyone believed equality would never exist then women would still be unable to vote, there'd still be slaves, etc.

There are still minority groups that need more equality and rights then they currently possess, homosexuals for example.

It may never exist but there is always room for improvement,.

Seriously, equality stifles greatness and promotes mediocrity. I completely disagree with it.

Equality is just another way of saying "everyone has to go as slow as the slowest person, otherwise the slowest person gets offended."

Alternatively, "everyone has to keep up with the fastest person and if you can't, suck it up and DO IT."

That would not be equal. There are those who simply can't "suck it up".

I'm sorry, but I think you've got this entirely wrong. Equality is not non-discrimination, but that individuals are not discriminated against. To say to a pregnant employee that she cannot have paid maternity leave discriminates against her. Equality is not that everyone gets exactly the same, but that negative discrimination is equally absent from all individuals.

That would not be equal. There are those who simply can't "suck it up".
