Hello, fellow Escapists. I post here today to discuss something truly horrifying to me...erotic fanfiction.

I was just minding my own business, chillin' out, maxin' relaxin' all cool, on deviantArt (of course) when someone I had added to my watch list had submitted a fanfiction for my favorite anime. Now, before this, I had a very pure, happy image of this anime (as much as it could be, considering it was extremely violent). Now, I thought "hey, maybe this could be alright" so I click.

I'm not going to mention what I saw. Just that it would have made Pedobear happy, and that it has scarred me for life.

Have any of you ever had to deal with something like this?

It depends on who's writing.
Some people (i.e. very, very few people) can pull it off, but the vast majority is shit.
Generally, the more fanfiction focuses on emotion and the less it focuses on slash, the better it is.

Meh, it doesn't bother me. Hell, one of my TF2 servers has a "fetish erotic fanfiction dramatic reading" event if you might call it that. It's hilarious.

Most fanfiction is pathetic, either way. But who am I to stop those who write it? I don't care. Sure, they can't come up with something remotely original - as if it was that hard in things like fantasy or science fiction where in the end everyone is copying each other either way... but at least they aren't going to be paid for what they do.

Dammit, now I remember... I was going to write a troll fanfiction about Cthulu's hot sister. And put it on some big fanfiction site one of my girl friends visits. Ah well, that'll have to wait until I've got nothing to do.
