Err...gaming relapse?

So here's the deal. Up until roughly six months ago I was an avid gamer. Last summer, I spent like 80% of my time on the 360. But, I hit a drought. Its weird, for months I just couldn't sit down and play a game.

I'd get started and then just not be able to play. In the past few days I managed to get a good sit down thanks to "Jurassic: The hunted". It would appear that I'm managing to get my grip back on gaming but it was a weird time period. Anyone else have this happen to them? Like a burnout or a drop in interest?

I sort of feel this great big "... meh" when i finish a game, particularly a long one. I'm left hollowed out for a good long while before i pick up again. It may be why i always stop playing games near the very end and don't actually finish anything, or finish it after a long period of inactivity.

I just got out of a "drought". I didn't have any new games and none interested me, so my primary use for my Xbox for 2 months was to watch movies. Happens with books for me too.

I find it with books too. I tend to find that after I finish a game I dont play for a while, unless I have a new game lined up and ready to play. I tend to mess around with older games, or play crappy internet games when I hit the 'drought'

All the time with anything I do. I had my first week off work in over a month and a half last week, and I didn't game once. Then when I was back to 60 hours weeks it picked up. However, in the previous month and a half I did no writing, in the week off I did over 50,000 words of the novel I'm working on.

I haven't read a novel since leaving university, but I have read my entire comic books collection through. It just goes like that.

Yeah.. it's juts a lull. It always comes back if you don't force it. I'm going through a lull with film. Haven't been arsed for months. Saw Predators last night... really didn't help.

This has been happening a bit recently for me with my 360, but that's mostly because I've finished all of my games (except for Far Cry 2, but fuck that). Lucky for me, I also recently torrented Dawn of War for my computer, and have been playing that almost non stop.
