So many disasters at once reminds me of Disaster - Day of Crisis (Wii). That's one hilarious game because it just gets more and more improbable.

Let me start off with saying the MOVIE review was great. It really was you hit everything on the head and did a great review ... with that said.

I really have never been so disgusted with a HUMAN BEING in quite sometime. Stick to doing your bloody movie reviews and keep your general opinion of people to yourself you arrogant conceded jackass. I don't believe in the whole 2012 hype, but some people truly do believe and are genuienly scared and that is not for your amusement. It's people like you who help fund psych wards and the like because you pray on those you see as weaker then yourself.

How about you do what you volunteer or get paid to do and bring us movie reviews. Nobody cares about your outlooks on life, society, or the way people think or react. It was down right stupid and just straight out rude and uncalled for and makes me just pray that 2012 ends up being the worst year of your life!! I personally think you owe the public and apology for it, but knowing the internet everyone will flock to your defense because it's the cool thing to do.

How old are you actually? Grow up.

Loved the PSA to start the review, and nice use of geometry to analyze a scene as well. Just might have been his best work yet.

Yawn. I hate apocalypse movies. Cliches and CGI that in 10 years will look like crayons on toilet paper. The "creative" process of conceive them goes , probably, something like this :

I've got the idea for this movie one day when i was going through my mail. The book about the most famous World Cities and Tourist Destinations that I've bought online had arrived along with a notice from the bank which replied to my inquiry about the mortgage on my house that should be fully repaid by the year 2012. I wanted to read the new book, or better say watch the pretty pictures by the fireplace, but on my way to the comfy chair I've accidentally trip over my Godzilla plushy toy left on the floor which made drop the book that, sadly, finished up in the fire. I've tried to put it off by pouring water on it, nevertheless in all the hurry I've poured vodka instead... Now it was too late to do anything to save it.. I could clearly see how the Saint Paul's Cathedral was disappearing in front of my eyes consumed by the blazing fireplace inferno... :D

Again I'm torn. It does look a good movie, but after "Airplane!" I'm all done with disaster movies. Even Team America destroying the Eiffel Tower was...sort of...yeah.

I'm still trying to see The Men Who Stare At Goats after our cinema caught fire tonight and I had to rush out with my Pepsi. Not happy.

Going to this in a couple of hours. Escape to the Movies is a great video series basically because Bob sees the movies for the same reasons I do. If I wasn't going to 2012 to expect big fun visuals and big dumb fun and wanted, I dunno, a dark reimagining of the "end of the world" genre then there'd probably be something wrong with me.

Dumb doesn't mean bad by the way. Dumb is watching a sitcom at the end of a hard day's work. Dumb is engrossing yourself in a simple-minded movie with great visuals as a complete escape from your mundane existance. There's nothing wrong with this, in fact if the only reason you go to films is to see something that probably will be nominated for screenplay Oscars then fuck right off because you bore me. Sure those films are great to but I don't go to the movies to see those kind of films, (unless it's a film festival.) I go to the movies to see something that's going to blow my mind without actually requiring it to do any work.

As an aside, is anyone else getting sick of the "dark reimagining" thing?

MB's excited about this one, he's speaking faster than Yahtzee.

Nice job giving context to your opinion, too. It stops a lot of people from complaining about hypocrisy and favoritism. Also, how did you get Bay to edit footage of this movie?

Tee hee hee. The public service announcement and the Michael Bay bit were genius, and I very much enjoyed the analysis of that one shot - just goes to show that you're one of those rare movie critics who actually know their subject matter. Well done!

Of all of your reviews, THIS one is the funniest. Especially the PSA and the "that shot done by Michael Bay.

(can't breath, too funny)

I was shocked the low score 2012 got at ign, I was looking forward to it for awhile and I was planning on avoiding it, or was until I saw moviebob's review. Also 2012, it's the whole Y2K in a snappy new package.
You can't spell ignorance without IGN :)
