Hmm...Forest and Jude.

HOW DID THIS MATCH HAPPEN?!

Those two in the same movie is something I never thought I'd see.

kinda wanted to se it till you told me the premise...

thats not fair, i wanted to see it till you told me in the premise its the future and robot organs are wahts happening not blackmarket organs being repo-ed by the mob which is what i thought it was from the trailers i have seen...

though sex/surgery/computer hacking does sound interesting...

REPO MEN IS A BIG PHAIL TRAIN!!!
It's bodily ripped off from Repo: The Genetic Opera.
They practically used the same goddamn script.
So yeah.... anything that is seen as original in this movie is actually ripped off from Repo: The Genetic Opera.
But whatever.

Ok, Bob, you've sold me. If you say Jude Law can pull off the macho badass look, I've gotta see it.

So it's an action movie trying to be a great one and somewhat pulls it off. Sure I'll see it. But I'm surprised a Halo fan isn't on hear say they ripped of the Marathon symbol.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
huh, I was sure it was going to be one of thoes with an interesting premise that just turned into a bad action movie, the review makes it sound like it might be worth checking out

The premise seems almost identical to Repo: The Genetic Opera, which really rubs me the wrong way because Im a huge fan of the movie, but I kinda wanna see this movie anyways.

I might check it out. Mainly because I start getting a little frisky when I think about Enemy at the Gates(don't judge me) because I absolutely loved that movie.

I must respectfully disagree with MovieBob for once. He just tole me the plot and ending are borrowed from other films And so is the premise which he appears to be unaware of. The premise was taken from Repo! The Genetic Opera. It's a lower budget movie that got short-shifted on an advertising budget. It's based off a stageplay from the 90s and was in production the same time as Repo Men, back when it was Reposession Mamba (the silliest name ever). That too also has a good helping of blood as Darren Bousman, the director os Saw II and III, is the director. It also stars Anthony Stewart Head as the awesome Nathan Wallace/Repo Man. And yes, the premise is exactly the same, with the addition of a drug in a little glass vial. Please check this movie out, it's worth it.

I'm going to hop on the "Ugh, it's ripping off Repo: The Genetic Opera" train, but the claustrophobic knife fight and some sex/surgery/computer-hacking actually make me really want to see this, because I am a sick, sick bastard with some sick, sick... things. :)

I have to say, Bob, I'm pretty impressed you haven't made a video to gloat about how good your predictions were for the Oscars yet.

Repo Men looks interesting. I always enjoy a Foreest Whittaker performance after seeing The Last King of Scotland.

This reminds me of the old Armageddon/Deep Impact debate. I liked Repo: The Genetic Opera too, quite a bit in fact, but I'm willing to give this film a shot to see how different it is, especially if it's being compared positively with Equilibrium and District 9, two of my favorite films OF ALL TIME.

I always thought that this was gonna be a sequel to the cult 80's flick Repo Man. Turns out that it sounds a hell of a lot more like Repo: The Genetic Opera (which I have not seen but it is near the top of my list). Hmm...

Equilibrium being one of the three best sci-fi movies of the decade? Nope. It was great, borderline incredible, but it doesn't deserve top three anything besides kickass soundtracks, gunplay (Gun-Kata rules!), and shootout scenes.

And I completely agree with MovieBob when it comes to the film Black Book. Zwartboek (Black Book's real title) is an incredible movie! One of the greatest WWII movies you will ever see and definitely among the greatest spy movies of all time. See it!

Again as its been said REPO: THE GENETIC OPERA DID IT FIRST.

Yes bold caps was neccessary. I may not have been the first, but I now am the loudest.
Watch The real repo men do their thing. Im sure it will be more interesting.
But there is no sex/surgery/computer-hacking scene.

"[Film X] is just ripping off [film Y]! Oh no!"

Every good film is ripping off something that has come before in some manner, bad films do it unapologetically. Yeah, Avatar was just Dances With Wolves mixed with Pocahontas and all that. Read up on some Joseph Campbell and you'll find that everything shares tons of commonalities, but you know what? It doesn't matter. Just let the different angle on the story be the part that entertains instead of nitpicking about where the idea came from, because I guarantee you Repo: the Genetic Opera wasn't the first either.

Like allot of other people I immediately recognised the premise from Repo: Genetic Opera, my immediate reaction was ?Oh gods how much are they going to ruin this? having seen successful low budget ideas become corrupted when transferred to a big screen version before (thats not to say that repo men is a re-make of repo, which its not. perhaps concept whould have been a better description). However I hold out hope after seeing the review; that Repo Men can stay true to the core premise before it gets watered down with all the standard Hollywood tropes. From the review it appears that at least in the first half of the movie achieves this, so I shall keep my fingers crossed it doesn?t blow it.
