What book(s) are you reading?

Hunters of Dune - Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson. Been steadily working my way through all of the Dune books for about 3 years now.

Got a stack of books I haven't started yet by Terry Pratchett, Matt Reilly, Stan Nicholls as well as some more Dune books.

Which anime(s)/show(s) are you watching?

Don't watch anime, never saw the attraction.
DVDs - Battlestar Galactica (the new one) season 4, South Park season 1 (so much quotable shit) and Matrioshki (a Belgian series about the white sex slave trade in Eastern Europe).

What music are you listening to?

Lots of stuff, this week it's been - Iced Earth, Madder Mortem, Nevermore, Iron Maiden, Blind Guardian, Dark Tranquillity, Something for Kate, Arch Enemy, Ayreon, God Forbid, In Mourning, Sonata Arctica, Fear Factory, Apocalyptica, Bloodbath, Katatonia, Draconian and Dreadnaught (pulled from my last.fm stats for this week).

What game(s) are you playing?

Just finished Mass Effect 2 (again), recently put 152 hours into Fallout: New Vegas (will come back to it when DLC comes out for PC) and started Oblivion again after I saw the announcement about Skyrim.

That thing about Eastern Europe sounds interesting. Any chance I can find it online?

Also thinking about borrowing my friends PS2 and buying Persona 4 do I need to play Persona 3 first?

Thanks for not making this thread as deep as the title makes it sound OP, i've been through enough of them today plus i would have had to use a quote from my Avatar and DEFEND IT TO THE DEATH!

I'm not sure about that. It's probably a good idea, but I wouldn't go with the original Persona 3. If you can, go with Persona 3 Portable, as it has the improved mechanics of 4 (being able to control all of your team members in battle, for example), but maintains the story for which it has received praise. Not much to say about Persona 4. I've heard it's wonderful, even that it's the Swan Song of the PS2, so I'd waste no time in checking it out, especially as it becomes more scarce (Atlus, why you gotta be so obscure!?! D.

I wasn't sure if Persona 4 was a direct sequel to Persona 3 or a Final Fantasy esq sequel where none of the games seem to have any connection to the previous one, the praise given the Persona 4 is the main if only reason i'm checking it out

And yeah I heard that Persona 3 FES was the updated version of Persona 3 (on PS2 anyway)

I know Persona 3 FES is different from Persona 3, but I can't say in what ways, sorry XD

You should be able to. I ordered my copies of the DVDs online from EzyDVD (Australia). Just look up 'Matrioshki' - there are two seasons.

I should probably add that it's a drama series, not a documentary.

I've read A Study in Scarlet, Sign of Four, The Adventures of, The Hound of the Baskervilles, and I've just started reading the Valley of Fear and The Memoirs of. If you can find them online, or get the DVD, you should definitely check out the new BBC series Sherlock. It's Sherlock Holmes but set in the modern day. It's like any crappy ITV detective drama, but it's funny, as slick as Spooks, and written by the guys that do Dr Who - it's great.

No matter what you all think, you can't stop me from listening to Slade during December!

I've read A Study in Scarlet, Sign of Four, The Adventures of, The Hound of the Baskervilles, and I've just started reading the Valley of Fear and The Memoirs of. If you can find them online, or get the DVD, you should definitely check out the new BBC series Sherlock. It's Sherlock Holmes but set in the modern day. It's like any crappy ITV detective drama, but it's funny, as slick as Spooks, and written by the guys that do Dr Who - it's great.

No matter what you all think, you can't stop me from listening to Slade during December!

I haven't finished The Adventures of, but I've read the others. A Study in Scarlett is a little too out there in my opinion, but I love Sign of Four and Hound of the Baskervilles. Good stuff.

Between seasons for TV, but I have been watching Bones - Season 1 via Netflix streaming, of and on for the last few days.

Between games after finishing Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (Just the Tank and 'Young At Heart' left to clear 100%. Anyone who's finished knows what a pain those two missions are...), but awaiting Heavy Rain from Blockbuster Online queue. (Not convinced if it was worthy of being part of my miniscule purchase budget.) I beat my head against Uncharted: Drake's Fortune on Crushing... gave up barely a couple chapters in. Sonuvabuggerall, just not worth the frustration.

Between books right now... most recently finished Christopher Moore's Bite Me, and Fool (I haven't spent so much time laughing at memories of my freshman Lit teacher from highschool, as I did while reading this. I wish I was in touch with him after these last 18-odd years, so I could give him my copy.), after devouring Jim Hines' Jig the Goblin series (Goblin Quest, Goblin Hero, and Goblin War).

Have my phone playing Chroma Key, The Verve Pipe, and Kid Rock while I'm folding laundry or just chillin' in the livingroom.

Yeah, I don't like how A Study in Scarlet just abandons London half way through and begins to tell a whole other story. It could easily have been explained Sign of Four-style with Hope giving an account of his past following his capture. It also keeps the identity of the criminal in the dark a little longer.

Well the third, and final, episode of the series is still available to watch on the BBC iPlayer. Here's the link:

You don't have to have watched the first two episode because each story is separate. But it's nice to watch it from the beginning.

Well at the moment I'm reading The Official Zombie Handbook (Uk), but I'm getting a bit tired of it. I'm also doing some research work on graffiti art so my head is often found in a book about guerilla artists.
I have a multitude of shows I watch: House, Supernatural, Burn Notice, Castle, Dirk Gently and Stargate.
When it comes to music I tend to skip about, one minute I'll be listening to Martin Harley and Newton Faulkner and then I'll swtich over to Scar Symmetry and Fear Factory.
Comic Jumper and Fallout New Vegas at the moment.
