Didn't find an existing thread on the topic so, what the heck. Anyone else having this issue?

Specifically, sometimes when I load up the site all the logos and images and so on are fine, but all the text is missing. The text on buttons and other things that can be highlighted/activated/clicked will appear when I mouse over them, but I click an article and the entire article is a blank white box with some blue lines in it where there are hyperlinks (which I can't see, but can click). And it's not constant. I might click an article and it looks fine, but then I click the Comments button and the forum thread attached to it is a bunch of empty white boxes for posts.

I think this started, oh...maybe two weeks ago? It was just happening once in a while, but today it's been really frequent.

I take it this is only happening in Chrome?

Chrome did an update that borked it up. Usually, I've found, it's caused by refreshing the current page, not going to a new one. If you do need to refresh, instead click the address bar and hit enter, "re-going" to the same page -- but without refreshing.

Hopefully Google fixes this with the next update.

Refreshing is pretty much guaranteed to make it happen, but just going to a new page is doing it pretty often today, too. Probably is just a Chrome thing.

I can confirm that I'm having the same issue with Chrome. Both on my laptop, and on my phone.* So there you have it.

*Edit: Hey that sort of rhymed.

This is happening to you now? The site's working fine for me on my Chrome browser on my laptop, then again I haven't had an update message for it or anything recently.

ThyNameisMud posted a solution in the <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Tech-Team>Tech Team group:

Google managed to break webfonts (despite having a webfont devision) in chrome. instead of failing back to a default fault the fonts are just not appearing until you so something that forces the browser to re-render text. like say, change the bg color via browsing options. I really, really wish webfonts would be stable already.

So, yeah, if you guys are having this issue that's how you can fix it.

Edit: So, not a permanent fix. You have to do it each time the problem happens. You can just use the settings menu and scroll over an option and it will load everything. What a pain.

The main issue I'm having is Chrome going "Oops, Chrome could not find [enter web address here]" every 3 goddamned seconds. Is this also caused by their new update?

This is why I'm a Firefox user.

Actually I just lucked out this time.

Yup, I'm experiencing the same thing. It mostly happens in user groups for me. I can fix it after refreshing a few times, but it's usually better to click another group tab, such as Members, then click back. Another issue I get on this site sometimes is the pages just kind of pratfalling when they try to load. Just like, instantly the page goes to chrome's "No data received" screen with the sad page icon. Loads instantly the moment you refresh it, but it's always puzzled me...

Yeah, using Chrome and having the same problem here, usually refreshing the page or going back and clicking on the topic again seems to fix it. What a pain though, hopefully Google will sort it out soon enough.
