Escapist iPhone App?

I'm a big fan of the Escapist and also an iPhone user. Who else thinks we should have an app for the Escapist on our iPhones? What features do you want?

Personally, I want the forums and the articles on the app, all available to download for offline reading. At best, we could have the videos!

I don't have a problem using the site on my iPhone at all...

In fact, about 90% of my posts are made through it. But all the copying and pasting from quotes and BB code etc takes some sweet ass time to do so you had best appreciate it y'all...

Additionally, if you want a button on your phone that you click (as opposed to going to Safari, etc) just make a shortcut.

Heres how:
1 open Safari,
2 go to m.escapistmagazine.com
3 hit the + sign on the bottom nav bar in Safari
4 click "Add to Home Screen"
5 adjust title as you see fit
6 Hit add

Done, now you have The Escapist on your iPhone.

That is, of course, when they decide to make m.escapistmagazine.com..

I understand how to make links on my homescreen for the phone.

Not sure if you've ever visited a mobile version of a site. it isn't the normal 1024x768 layout, it doesn't have as many icons and pictures, and it has less scripting (or in many cases scripting completely nonexistent)

The app would make loads of sense for groups. Enabling you to easily view the chat, and respond quickly without having to load five or six pages over a sometimes very slow cell phone connection.

I think a dedicated app would work better, as it could have Ipod specific features, rather than just being a redone version of the main site. In gaming terms, it always sucks when they re-release an old game for portable consoles. It's better to redo the original game completely and release it, dedicated to the new system.

I hate iPhones too. Why the fuck would anyone buy that piece of shit? To the OP, how frequently do you pull it out for no reason at all?

I love my iTouch, but it owns my life. Buying pointless apps that do nothing has become a daily tradition that I can't escape. And showing said pointless apps to people who don't care is something it wills you to do.

OT: From what I've read, an escapist app seems like the most useless thing for the iphone yet ... except the 400+ farting apps.
