I was just wondering how many of you feelow escapists play instruments?
Also who is your idol of the instrument you play?

I've played bass for about a year now and i'm getting quite good at it and i also have recently taken up the drums. My idols would either have to be Ryan Martine from Mudvayne or Alex katunich from Incubus. Boss highly skilled bass players but they stand out from all the rest as they like to pop and slap alot which i love.

I play any instrument that does not require a human to blow into it to make a noise. I'm best at guitar though.

I don't really have an idol. Years of working closely with musicians in the industry has taught me not to ever idolise them.

I've known how to play piano since I was six, and I've been playing the drums for around three years. I've also recently picked up guitar, and I must say I'm having a great time with it!

I don't really have a musical idol but as far as drums go, there was a drummer at a Cirque du Soleil that I went to last year that was completely amazing! I wish I could play like that.

Way back when I was young I was learning keyboard and piano. I wasn't exactly amazing or skilled but I was making decent progress. I was really interested in it after seeing Jordon Rudess from Dream Theatre and Christian "Flake" Lorenz from Rammstein play.

Unfortunately I sort of lost interest at that time and since then completely forgot how to play. I really should get back into it.

I've been playing Keyboard for a year now (mostly video game music) and my idol is Motoi Sakuraba (the composer for: Golden Sun, Tales of Symphonia, Valkyrie Profile and others) ... he's a Keyboard God! :D

I used to scream at a mic with a band. Does that count? For vocal idols, I'd have to say Plant, Morrison, Adele and Etta James.

I play violine for about two years now, mostly for role-playing reasons.

I play piano, guitar, bass, mandolin, and lyre.

I don't really have any specific idols for any of them. The usual people for guitar and bass but its hard to find other people who know what a lyre is let alone play it.

I play guitar and I played saxophone, but I haven't practiced in ages. For guitar I don't really have a favourite. For saxophone... it has to be my actual saxophone teacher. He plays a ton of instruments (Bass, guitar, every woodwind instrument I can name, piano) and he was once in UFO ffs! UFO!!!

I'm not sure what songs he did though, but apparently he was in the band when they headlined Reading.

I can play trombone quite well, guitar to a certain degree and I know the fundamentals of drums and piano.

I look up to my music teacher a bit, just because he manages not to shoot students or me, despite us being thick.
