Escapist Video Glitches

So, here's the problem; every video I watch on The Escapist has a rather annoying playback glitch. Every few seconds, black, boxy patterns appear onscreen, last for a second or two, disappear, then show up again a few seconds latter.

It's not the video itself, it's the actual player. I know this, because after the video finishes loading, if I pull the .flv out of my cache, it plays perfectly in VLC.

I was wondering, is it a problem anyone else is having, or is it just me?

Also, I've noticed a sizable jump in CPU workload when an Escapist video is playing. As soon as I pause it, it chills out a bit, so I was thinking the two could be related?

EDIT: Better example posted, original is here. [http://i51.tinypic.com/o9nx35.jpg]

Does this happen with other flash videos on the web? YouTube?

Try updating Flash [http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/] on your browser. Restart it before running the video again. If it's still weird, try running it on a different browser. Google Chrome [www.google.com/chrome] is a light download that has Flash player built into it from the beginning if you want a browser that you can use to check quickly.

If it worked, uninstall your other browser and the Flash plugin. Delete the folder in the C:/Program Files/#browser# directory. Now reinstall it.

If it didn't work with Google Chrome, it might be some sort of hardware issue. Which CPU do you have? Is your internet connection alright? Any other graphical issues on your computer?

In order:

It hasn't happened with any other flash player anywhere on the web that I've come across. I updated flash the last time they put out an update.

I already run Chrome, I use it as my main browser. I tried the same four videos in Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer, with identical results.

I've uninstalled both Chrome and Firefox, not for this reason, but for others, and I've noticed this issue before and after for both. I haven't unistalled IE, as I usually just leave it to rot in some forgotten corner of my harddrive.

The CPU in question:

My internet connection is fine, although it will drop out occasionally. This causes the video to stop loading altogether. No known graphical issues.

Sorry, I'm not sure what's going on then. Maybe try clearing your internet cache and temporary files with CCleaner.
This hasn't solved the problem, but thank you for your help.

PM Virgil. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Virgil]. He's the head IT guy for the site and can hopefully help.
Thanks for the tip!
