OT: I'm glad that we got the properly judged one. I voted for the peoples choice one, but I had no illusions. The ability to get large amounts of immature idiots to do something should never be underestimated.

Think of gamespot as that blue light at night, that attracts all the annoying bugs. It lets us sit on our back porch and enjoy a nice glass of wine while we have meaningful conversations and arguments

The actual Webby means alot more than the Peoples Choice. As everyone else has pointed out votes can easily be rigged. I mean Gamespot were offering badges and experience points for voting for them, plus their user base is quite a bit larger, meaning theres many more users to vote in their favour.

This site deserves it way more though, the news, articles and videos are much more entertaining here despite it overall being slightly smaller than Gamespot.
