You are never too old.

Not going this year, I last went System were on (and they were AWESOME) and 50cent got bottled off the stage. It was worth the entry just to see that.

Was that when SOAD were Headlining? If it was I think I was at the other stage watching Therapy?

2005
I think the headline acts were Feeder, Black Sabbath, Slipknot and System. Basically I camped somewhere under the main stage until throwing out time each night.

I thought about it, a lot of people I know are going. But I don't like the bands enough to justify the price.

Don't worry. Someone else made a Donnington/Download thread months ago.

On topic: Maybe going this year. Have been to all the Download festivals but only went for the music/atmosphere the first 2.

The rest have been to see friends that have moved away/gone to university. Majority of the music there is whatever pop-rock or pop-metal crap Kerrang!, Metal Hammer and Scuzz are whoring this year and most of the attendees are little pricks trying to act "more metal" than the rest of their friends by burning stuff, acting like tools and belittling anyone not into the exact same music as them.

For example: "Fuck off you miserable emo bastards."

There is no "alternative" mentality present at these events. It's all mainstream metal fads and clichés.

THROWING THE HORNS DOESN'T MAKE YOU COOL!

Don't say that, if the kids figure it out how are we supposed to avoid them from a distance?!
Hearing Trivium say "let me see those fucking devil horns" was quite possibly the funniest thing Ive ever heard. Why would you stereotype yourself like that?

The kids ate it up though.

Oh really? I didn't know it was renamed download. Well, it still has great music(well there are some anyway). I still have the old AC/DC Donnington video, that place looks amazing.

But honestly;

Wacken>Download

I'm not sure what you mean by the majority of whats there, can you elaborate?

Haha... yeah, coming out of the pit after Machine Head and Slayer in 2007, drenched in my own and countless other people's sweat, ON THE SECOND DAY, knowing I wouldn't be back home until 2 days later (long distance journey) was... epic to say the least.

But no one wants to go near you until you've had a shower...

Then you factor in everone throwing half empty bottles and cups of what you hope is beer towards the front...
