I ride 'round town in my off-white Lexus.

Yeah, when I say off-white Lexus, I mean the off-white 2001 Lexus RX300.
I call it the Jay-Z-mobile, my brother calls it the Andy-Runney-mobile.

It's got great millage and good acceleration (up to 40mph then it drops off). It only sometimes won't start; a problem I've attributed to a bad fuel line. All thing considered, I'd say it has a reasonably low chance of exploding, so that's a plus. It smells nice. I still haven't figured out if the seats are real leather of fake, but they're comfortable.

EDIT Am I the only person here who drives a Lexus?

While I doubt you're the only one here who drives one, you're the only one who has posted one at the moment. I certainly don't have the money to own and maintain one, and I doubt most people around here would have that much either.

Man us Statesiders haven't had a good ute since the Chevy El Camino, GMC Sprint, and Ford Ranchero way back when. They're revered as collector's items around here now: hell, right now I've got a friend in Alabama who is restoring an El Camino from the '80s to prime condition. They're rather ironically being used as toys rather than utility vehicles these days.

Slow as all hell and not particularly impressive, but the fuel efficiency is truly amazing.

Have to get a replacement every few years, but the price is pretty reasonable.

This one isn't mine, but mine looks exactly like her.

A 1995, inline-4, gold Toyota Camry, with 187k miles and counting. She may not be the fanciest girl at the party, but she's easily the most reliable. I love her.

Yeah, Here in Aus, the Ute is kind of a main stay, lol. I mainly use it to transport my Dirt bikes around, or if anything ever happens to my Road bike. Also, limits the amount of people asking you for lifts, downside, you get more requests to help people move.

I also find it funny that you mentioned the transmission problems: my truck is actually in the shop for some preventative maintenance on the brakes and transmission at the moment. While drivable, it had some things that need to be ironed out.

I was going down the interstate and started speeding up to pass an 18 wheeler going up a hill, then suddenly I lose all power to the gas pedel and when I press it my truck just starts making a *grind!, screech!, grind!* type sound. Luckily, I was able to roll it to the top of the hill and coast down the other side in neutral (at 35 mph on the shoulder getting passed by people doing 80 mph) and limped on to the nearest exit (which was the road I lived on anyway), I call my dad, he shows up and starts toying with it....."Yep, your transmissions done." He was able to limp it home, and then into town where one of his friends had to replace the whole thing because forward barely work and reverse........there was no reverse.

To be honest, I prefer older bikes, the new ones don't look aggressive enough! Those R's are razor sharp on the handling though eh.

Good to see fellow riders here. My first bike was a ZX-7R and I loved that beast. However, I do prefer Yamaha's current styling over any other.

I've always loved the ZX-7R. Those flared nostrils were bloody awesome!

I haven't ridden mine for a while. A massive tankslapper put a couple of dents in the tank and broke the lockstop. I decided to change a few things while it was off the road, which included a steering damper.

To be honest, riding an ageing monster like a tuned GSX-R1100 without a damper is really stupid.......I only just managed to save that one, with some grass-tracking!

A volvo 740 I bought from my uncle so I could start practicing driving.

I really like it. Relatively easy to drive and wasn't too expensive either. The fuel usage is affordable too.


It's in winter storage now, though, so I mostly use my feet for transportation.

i drive this
a rover 25 (i think the 25 is the amount of horsepower lol)

its not that quick however i have beaten a lamboghini in it. he must of been doing around 60 ish on this B road and i signaled, pulled out and BAM! done him at about 65.

the radio dosent work however and the engine sounds like a diesal. its had one cylinder misfire due to a blown coil pack and the clutch went last year. also there is a minor oil leak from the rocker gasket.
the bracket holding the battery in place rusted away so bad i had to grind it off and weld another one up when replacing the battery.

upgrades include a replacement air filter and i wrote GTI in the dirt on the door panels.

its not a bad car, cheap to run etc and ive had it for so long ive grown quite fond of it.

This photo was taken right when I bought her. I went on so many awesome group rides with that bike (til I had wheel hop in a left turn and we took a massive tumble). Now she's dismantled in my buddy's shop never to be ridden again /sadface

Ouch. That must've cost a pretty penny to replace. That actually reminds me of a friend of mine that had to replace her Oldsmobile Bravada's transmission 2 or 3 times. Not fun, and it cost about $900 per transmission job. I guess the moral of the story is to make sure you get your transmission checked often and make sure you don't do anything stupid that would bang it up.

2.5 litre 6-cylinder BMW 323i SE. Thanks to wide gearing it's crap from a standing start but returns great MPG on the motorway. It's docile as you like until you drop it down a cog and stamp on the fun-pedal, which I do a lot as BMW 6-pot engines make a glorious noise when they are unleashed!

It also handles brilliantly thanks to sitting a bit lower than the lesser E36 3-series models and stiffer springs. Naturally it's shite in the snow but most Beemers / RWD cars are! It has it's issues but it's still easy enough to work on and, as the 3 series is so common in Britain, parts are readily available and reasonably priced to boot.

Interesting. You're the second person to post a nice looking blue BMW from that era in this thread. To be honest I think that's probably one of the last, if not last generations that actually look good to me. Newer ones just look somewhat generically pretty, if you get what I mean. Still though, nice car.

Yeah, I know what you are getting at and thanks for the compliment too!

My dream is to get the M5 from the same era - the E39 5-series is subtly-good looking but the M5 is just fantastic!
