Just press print screen (the Prt Scr button on your keyboard) and then go into paint and select edit-->paste.

You'll get a screengrab of your desktop and will be able to chop it down at any time. You can use the screengrab thingy any time you're in windows. Nifty, eh?

I keep forgetting, but Vista at least has this snipping tool that's pretty convenient, it would be more so if I could bring it up with a keystroke, but I'm lazy.
