Interesting how the audio of every modern horror game owes something to ye olde Silent Hill these days.
I was thinking the same thing.

OT: Kinda interested, bu not enough for me to get a Kinect.

Sex with a monster? That's every boy's dream! But seriously now, this looks rather interesting, not sold on the kinect part of it though.
I snickered to this.

I am curious. Will the kinect react to people flaying, punching and running out of their rooms as they panic?

I wonder if this is ever going to make it out of Japan...
Well, probably. Why else would the ESRB rate it?
True, but ESRB has its own standards for every continent. Sometimes even countries have thier own ESRB standards, like the UK who (in hindsight, thankfully) banned Manhunt 2.

If there was a worldwide standard i wouldnt have to ask to begin with.
Quote: I think the ESRB only rates for North America, with the UK using BBFC ratings (soon to be replaced by PEGI). : Quote

In the UK we have BBFC and PEGI, with PEGI only for games and BBFC for games and dvds.

Being super gruesome just to be edgy or shocking is so much old news. Why do people keep trying to do it?
Because no one has realized the brilliance of a Slenderman game.

The more I think about this, the more interesting it sounds. Part of what made combat in Silent Hill so scary was that it was difficult and rigid due to bad controls. [small]zing?[/small]

Ah, that makes sense. My imported copy of DA2 only has a BBFC rating, though I'm pretty sure I've imported UK games with PEGI or (on older games) ELSPA ratings.

"Gore Porn" taken to new meanings.

The "exclusive to Kinect/Move" games are more irritating than appealing to me; it's basically a caveat that the game is relying strictly on a motion control gimmick and you[footnote]Assuming you do not have Kinect or Move.[/footnote] can't play it anyways.

If this was 4chan, my post would be something like this:

> game is supposed to be scary
> game is compared to non-scary torture porn series on the very first paragraph
> thefuck.jpg

You and me both, man, seriously. This doesn't seem scary, just Eli Roth-esque.

There's something less than scary about any game trailer with a narrator reading off the title of the game. Maybe it's the association in my mind with House of the Dead (a series which, while enjoyable, falls securely in the "goofy" column in my book), maybe it's that the presence of someone reading off of a title card implies a lack of the kind of "off the rails, anything can happen" uncertainty that is necessary to create real fear in my mind.

Still, I'll be curious to hear what they can pull off with the Kinect.

I dunno, after Prey, I always doubt a game's greusomeness. Hard to beat what I saw in Prey...mainly one specific moment.

I was interested in this, then I saw the exclusivity. Not worth spending $100 on a gimmicky fad for one game.

Oh well, perhaps this'll be the horror game that "redefines the genre."

Why are things like saw considered scary?
Horror is scary.
Pop outs are not scary.
Gore is not scary.

Don't think I'm sold. The best use for Kinect I see is Dance, Dance Revolution or what it's called. I'm not going to spend money to dance around to bad music.

Hmmm... I might have to grab Kinect, now. Between this and Child of Eden, Kinect actually isn't looking too bad anymore.
Yep, I am interested in both of these games, as well.
