I'm in something of a fix here.
I'm studying higher-level English in what I shall call 'High School' [Irish equivalent of], and we are expected to write essays on a variety of subjects, from analyses of studied books to poetry to personal essays and short stories.
Now, I fully appreciate and understand the theory behind essay-writing, and usually know what I'm writing about, but the act of writing the damn things is like vomiting razor blades.
My usual attempt consists of 4-5 aborted starts, a lot of swearing and fitful sleep. If I do get something done, I read over it the next day and tear it from my copy in the throes of nausea.
Is there anything I can do to just ignore the quality of my writing and get on with it?
