Ladies and gentlemen,
I will be taking a week off the Escapist, as I found out 5 minutes ago that my grandmother passed away.
I understand that many of you won't know me, and condolences are not required, but if you DO send them, then thank you very much :')
Sincerely,
Master_Spartan117666 (Daniel Rosamilia)

I feel your pain man. I just lost my grandfather on Tuesday so I understand how hard it is.

I recently lost my grandmother. Sadly, I didn't feel sad until when we were taking her stuff out of her house.

Well, I take about a day or two to actually react to it emotionally (with my grandpa a year ago, it took a day to really hit, and I broke down in the middle of school)

Very sorry to hear that, hope everything is okay.
I don't know what to do when my nan dies. I don't like her that much and she doesn't even bother with me any more so I don't know if I'll feel sad or anything.

My Condoleances (is that how it's spelled? I never know in english).

I hope you will learn to live with it.

Edit: I just realized that looks a bit harsh, but I intend no harshness.

I'm really sorry dude, I hope that you can recover from the shock and that over time the pain will dull. It gets better but it will always be there. Remember her for how well she lived not the fact she's dead.

You have a long night ahead of you. The day my mother rang to say my Grandad died - I was actually pretty positive. I loved him, but he had a good life and he provided a lot for me (he paid for my college education). I felt the best way to honour him was to continue living and try accept the fact that he was gone. And... it was easy, at first. He had made the most of his time, and gave me the best headstart for a good life than any man possibly could. More than I deserved, and knowing that helped a lot.

But the following night was rough. I was on my own in the dead quiet, and memories kept creeping back to me. Times from my childhood that we spent together, the last time we ever spoke, things I took for granted, and it was really harsh. I simply couldn't stop crying. Every so often, I'd grab a hold of my emotions, convince myself I'd gotten over it all, try get back to sleep, but I'd just breakdown again.

Anyway, my thoughts are with you. Just try be there for whatever side of the family your Grandmother is from - there going through the same ordeal, if not worse.

That's bad. I'm sorry dude, I can only imagine the pain you feel since both my grandparents are still alive, and they're pretty young by grandparent standards.
