Have you ever completed a Pokedex in any Pokemon game, or known somebody who has?

I almost did on Fire Red. Then I went onto Four Island, leaving metre-long gaps in the 'dex. Mean game.

I did it with Pokemon Blue. Without any cloning or trading with myself.
I actually managed to get people to trade their starters with me for normal pokemon.

I did with Diamond once.
[sup]DISCLAIMER: I may have used a cheating device.[/sup]

Fun fact: You can not have all of the pokemon in Diamond or Pearl. There are simply not enough places for them in the PC.

I did it in Blue as well, traded with my cousins.

Got Mew when I got my GameShark some time later too, but I did get the 151 legit, once.

MAN that was a long time ago. I think I'll go find my carts (I only ever owed Blue/Yellow/Silver).

I should probably mention, if you have caught them all yet illegitemately, you may as well post how as it might make an intersting read.

My sister and I did with Red and Blue versions. It was about two years after those games were released, and we didn't know how to cheat.

I also caught all the non-trade pokemon on Silver version. The evolutions were made easier with power-leveling and Exp Share at the Elite 4.

Easy, just release the ones you don't want.

I'm happy with my social life the way it is: alive. Thank you. So no, I never caught them all in one game.

But then you don't have them all.
I'm talking about having 1-450ish in the boxes and not skipping any of them and no duplicates.

Simply not enough room.

Same here.
I have caught them all in: Red, Blue, Silver, Sapphire, Emerald, and Pearl. Mainly because Pokemon games are the only games where I will spend weeks grinding one Pokemon to perfection until it's level 100.

As soon as you catch a pokemon, it's recorded in the Pokedex. Then release the useless pokemon you don't want to keep.

You're not quite getting what I'm saying.

REMOVE THE POKEDEX FROM THE EQUATION.

Now, it is not possible to have every pokemon in the PC. The storage system. The place pokemon go when not in your party. There is not enough room there for all of them.
