Mine was during a storm, though I was a toddler so it took adults to tell me how close to death I was, I was on the staircase and eventually I was taken away because I kept trying to climb upstairs, literally a minute afterwards the entire ceiling above the staircase crashed down, breaking apart the stairs with it.

I'd say that was a pretty close call, though I didn't really get to appreciate what it really meant to my life as I was too young to remember, do I regret that, no, not really, I'm just glad I was moved away.

I went rafting and the raft dumped us all out, I thought it flipped. My life vest brought me up under the raft and because of the tarp bottom I was stuck there.

I had to cut my vest off to get out from under the raft.

My space ship was destroyed, I managed to get most of the crew to the escape pods but as I was helping my crippled pilot I was blown away from the ship and was spaced. Fortunately for me, a pro-human splinter group ressurected me and I am currently seeking those responsible.

Yeah, it's called living.

Being a wise-ass aside, I got stuck under a fat man's ass in a wild-water slide. People started clogging up near a tube part, but you rushed towards it pretty fast. So did I, and I couldn't stop before I slid underneath the guy. I thought I nearly drowned, only to be pulled out by daddy-o.

Well, that explains your avatar...

LOLZ

I did a similar thing, fell down the stairs and faceplanted. But the doctors just put a band-aid over the cut (yes it was just a cut) and said I was OK...

I obviously have no memory of this event, this is just the story as told by my parents.
As an infant I was taking a nap, and accidentally broke my bottle, which had been left in the crib. It was glass, and I cut my foot pretty bad. My dad was the only one home, but he'd had a really rough day at work, and was asleep and didn't wake up despite my screaming.
After a while, he woke up and came to check on me, only to find that I was sleeping in a completely blood soaked crib.
Doctors told my parents that if I hadn't fallen asleep, I would have continued thrashing around and bled to death.
It's 21 years later, and I still have a pretty horrendous scar on my left foot.
Moral: We switched to all plastic after that.

When I was workin as a mailman during the autumn when there was still snow and ice about that was melting. I spotted a huge chunk of ice above me on the roof of an apartment building (about 4 stories up.) I didnt think much of it so I ran inside and delivered all the mail. When I exited and stopped just by the door too organize some left-over mail and stuff that same ice chunk slammed into the ground infront of me just after I had stopped. It wouldve easily have cracked my skull open. Given its size and girth and say it was about 3-6 kg of weight.

Well, few years ago, I was almost road killed. The driver was most likely drunk, zig-zaging on the road.

Also, not really near death moment, but I almost lost my left eye last New Year...

According to me mommy, I was born dead. That blooming umbilical cord (which I also curse because of its hard to spell name which I very likely did not spell right) was wraped around me neck and it strangeld me. She says a doctor said I'd almost certainly have the brain damage, but I had no more than a normal kid does (seriously, all kids have brain damage jus ask Bill Cosby). When I try, I am quite the opposite of an idiot (problem is I don't try too often because I just don't care... maybe the thing that makes me decisive was damaged because when it comes to things that don't matter I am indecisive as hell).
There are some other stories from when I was a wee lad, but I don't really think much of them.

Another time, y 1979 Ford Ranchero and I were taking a friend to pick up his car from an autoshop. Twas clear skies before we left but it turned ugly very quickly. Instead of saying screw that like I should have I decided to press onwards. I was coming downhill on the highway and was approaching backed up traffic. I tried to stop but my land yacht lived up to its name and it sailed (hydroplaned) when I touched the brakes. I released them and pressed again, but it started sliding again. At that point I knew impact was unavoidable. Unforrtunatly, the thing I had to hit was the 1 thing bigger than my car, a freakin' semi. Impact speed was roughly 30-35 mph to a dead stop in a 1979 land yacht with no safety features outside the seat belts which were not in use (my brother got into a wreck in a Honda Civic and avoided serious injury by getting out of his seat as a car t-boned his).
I was unhurt and the car somehow drove home. My passenger broke my visor mirror with his forehead and now says he hit his head on the windshield (he didn't, I've seen what happens to windshields when they meet heads and the Ranchero's was not cracked to hell... A friend o mine wrecked an 807(?) Monte Carlo and headbutted his windshield). According to my step-mom, my dad was at work, the cop told her that if I would have been in a newer car I would have been hurt prety badly.

You know those bumps you get on your ballsac when you scratch it too much (being a virgin (due to not wanting some from one of the local whores and this town lacking in ladies) that is the only place it could come from)? Don't try and pop them like a zit. It worked a time or two before, but one night it popped inwards instead of outwards. I coudl actaully feel the thing run through my veins and into my heart area. My left shoulder stated hurting along with my chest. It only lasted a few seconds before it all went away (the pain and the thing that caused it), but I am about 47% sure twas a very minor heart attack. The thing from that bump I popped acted like blood clots do when they go from your leg and into your heart.
TIP: Leave those things alone and don't scratch yourself often

You know the saw blades in Half life?
Well it was one of those, not with the jagged edge, but still enough to chop off a hand or leg, even.
Well, I was with school recently (Past coupla years) and we went to a factory. I forget what for.
Anyway, it was still being built, and we were warned it would be dangerous (Had to sign a consent form) so we were all slightly nervous.
But back on topic, one of those 'Saw Blades' came loose from a machine, went shooting over everyone's heads, but me being the tall prick that I am, was heading straight for me.
Luckily, I sometimes get those adrenalin moments like everyone else, and so I went matrix on that thing.
It was awesome.

I got plenty of awe-ness and praise for my amazingly cool reaction, but I still get the jitters about it.

I was born dead and started breathing after 2 mins also I once nearly fell of a cliff but I grabbed some random tree keeping me from loosing balance and falling down.

What in the fuck. Is your life like Final Destination now? You know, with Death constantly trying to get you back for dodging his elaborate saw blade of death?

As for my own: Year 5 (makes you 10 years old) we went on a huge school trip for the week to Ampleforth. There was a swimming pool, and i remember my friends could all swim well, but i couldn't. They were going far out, into the deep end, and i was trying to follow. I got into the deepest bit, and ran completely out of energy. I went under and swallowed loads of water and thought i was seriously going to die. Then all of a sudden i somehow reached up and grabbed the lane-ring-thing and managed to grab onto it for dear life. Then all of a sudden the life guard blows his whistle and i thought "yay, someone's coming to rescue me!". Nope. "let go of the ring lanes please!". How i swam to the edge, i can't remember.

Twice.

First I was at a beach and I was only 8 and couldn't swim (still not that great) and got pulled by a current. My cousin was out there and I ran into her. It was kind of awkward how I landed into her we'll leave it at that.

Second I was driving on a highway with my dad and this tractor trailer tried to merge and it almost hit my window and I felt my heart stop in fear.
