I was just wondering, since Escapists tend to be a sceptical bunch, has anyone ever experienced something they couldn't explain; spotted a UFO that moved too fast to be a plane, seen a ghostly shape that was too real to be your imagination, had crumpets with Bigfoot and still have the butter knife?

Even if you don't believe in any paranormal stuff (or especially if you don't believe in it) Reveal your stories!

I saw some Ghosts. Commie ghosts what don't know they're dead. Hoping to steal our rockets so they can fly up and paint the moon pink and draw a Lenin face on it.

I've experienced plenty of things that I can't explain.

Mostly related to hearing sounds but not finding anything when I look for the source of the sound.
It's paranormal by the literal definition of the word at least...

As for ghosts and UFOs and stuff.
No.
Just no.

Those concepts annoy me as all fuck. An unidientified flying object is not an alien spaceship just because you can't identify it. It's unidentified is what it is. It could be any number of things, from a weather balloon to the chupacabra, but jumping to the conclusion that it's an alien spaceship without having contact with any actual aliens is just ridiculous.

An unexplained floating shadow that looks like a person isn't a ghost. It's unexplained.
How the hell do you extrapolate from seeing something mysterious that looks like it's human, to the conclusion that it must be the spirit of a dead human left in our world.
All you've done is make an observation.
It was something.
I'd love to know how you managed to jump to the conclusion that it's a spirit.

No, I don't take any hallucinogenic drugs and am too cynical for such nonsense.

That being said, I still don't like being in the pitch black.

I once found a loaf of bread a week past the expiration date that still tasted fine.

I saw a ghost, twice. Same ghost too.

Story time! :D

So I was in the kitchen doing the dishes. I was singing away and I saw something in the corner of my eye, so I glanced over my shoulder. I did a double take and there was a slightly opaque man standing in the doorway, looking really, really angry about something. I screamed, and he just disappeared.

Then about 6 months later (completely wild estimate, it was a few years ago.) Was in the same situation, doing the dishes, singing as usual. Glanced behind me again and he was in the doorway again. This time he looked happy though. He disappeared a lot quicker that time.

And the twist worthy of an M.Night Shamallama film! He looked exactly like my Uncle.

My deceased Uncle.

Who's ashes were scattered near a hillside where I live.

True story. D:

Nothing. Absolutely nothing at all. I haven't heard the voice of God, been visited by any deity's angelic messengers, seen UFOs, seen ghosts or, anything. Then again, I don't really believe in anything and don't take any recreational substances that would let me see whatever may or may not be there...oh well, my loss.

No, not really. I do think there -is- a phenomenom that could be termed as "ghosts", and that there are more to us and our enviroments than matter and biochemicals. It's just not what we expect, and people have a tendency to tack more meaning on those phenomenoms than they warrant.

But what do I know? I'm just a supersticious, impressionable twat holding humanity back. :p
