I must say I've been having a terrible day so far, prom is coming up and I'm not going for a variety of reasons, but its not so much for what has happened, but more so everything just making me feel depressed, think Holden Caulfield kind of randomness with what has been making me feel depressed, a squirell actualy made me feel depressed today... i was thinking about how happy it must be, and how its gonna have to work its tail off to survive next winter and cant enjoy summer.... but angsty teenager-ness aside, i was wondering if the rest of you have had such days, and how do you deal with them?

Like those days where you hit your head on something getting out of bed, and you know it'll be a bad day. And then it is. I can't recall anything right away though...

I've had my share of bad days, some closer to what you're saying, but none with the intensity of what you've experienced. All I can say is try to keep hold of a hopeful attitude to tomorrow that will get you through the day. If you can't do anything to improve your current day, just focus on trying to make tomorrow a better one.

To deal with days like that you need the extra funny stuff. I'm not going to my schools prom too if it makes you feel any better because students were going to organise it and we had a James Bond theme lined up and I mean old James bond style so we would have sexy girls in dresses, gambling (pretend because we are not old enough) drinks bar (non-alcohol because we are not old enough) etc etc. However my teacher decided to take controll and the theme is now "Mystical Forest" At first I got depressed by it and then regurgitated into my own mouth. It sounds aweful. Any ways, funny stuffs for you.

I've been listening to Tim Minchin recently. His songs always seem to make me smile:

I have had some days where everyone was just yelling at me over silly stupid crap. But i had some symphonic metal music to keep me calm and mellow.

I'm not going to my leavers ball. Don't fancy paying £30 to spend the night with people I don't like.

I'm having an awful day today. It's stupid because shit doesn't happen separately, it all has to happen in the same day.

LOTS, all u can do is just deal with it, and be relieved that tomorrow can't possibly be any worse. until the day that it is, then you say, well next week cant be any worse, until it is. my record is 5 and one half weeks of that, and thank god, praise jesus when it ends.

I solve them with funny songs and sometimes I just draw random things.

Oh, almost everyday, occasionally I get the good days, like on friday when I finally plucked up the courage to swallow my trust issues and become exclusive with my(now)lady. Best thing in a loooooong time.

Work is lame, people I work with are too. Bills. Meh, you know how it is.

Yeah, I had one of those days three days ago, I got fired from my job at World Vision, a bank machine ate my card while I was cashing my last paycheck, meaning that I had no food, and I have a week to make five hundred bucks for rent.

So yeah, it was a bad day, but whatever, things are looking up, so I can't complain. It's all in your attitude, as Oldboy puts it: "laugh and the world laughs with you, weep, and you weep alone."

Fuck Prom. Prom sucks.
It's a dinner with okay food, shitty music, god awful DJs that can't mix (who hired them?) and it just brings out the most 2 faced of people (My friends me out so my ex/her new boy could be in their group/limo; several girls that said they'd dance with me if i went stag embarrassed me by saying no)

I'd have had enjoyed myself more if i had taken the money I used for Prom and buying 5 $20 of vodka for 5 nights of fun.

But really, the only thing that really gets me out of my terrible moods is going for a sick workout or finding someone with something new to do. Like breakdancing.
Or playing 7 hours of COD4 with all your old friends from before you moved. That was a good night.

I've had tons of terrible days. I'm used to them by now, and I just accept that it's one of them and just move on. No sense dwelling on them.
