The other day I was driving to the next town over to go to work when some guy zoomed past me. Passing me illegally and even up a blind hill. Naturally he was in a big pick up truck. These people are always in pick up trucks or sport cars. Anyway. I managed to keep site of him and even found him parked at home (his tricked out truck wasn't hard to miss) at which point I called the police. They showed up, asked if I'd be willing to testify which I was, and they hauled him off in cuffs.

Never had to testify, he pleaded guilty.

Why did I go through the trouble? Because the next time he does something like that I might be on the other side of that hill. Something that just happened last month to a class mate of mine. A head on collision no one in either car survived.

Anyone else ever had the ca-hones to report a psycho driver?

Not psycho, per se, but I have reported a fair amount of drivers who disobey the rules, cause dangerous situations and/or otherwise endanger the public. I have described the cars, their numbers, the exact locations and natures of the crimes. I've also been a witness several times.

I don't do this because I care greatly for the public, merely that I do believe in a system of justice that must be obeyed.

I haven't reported a single driver yet, but I've been in several situations where I really should've.

I reported a group of motorcyclists once for driving like doucebags. They fucking passed people on the white line *illegal in my state* and on the shoulder after they spent two miles playing chicken with my back bumper, speeding up and slamming on the breaks a few feet away from my rear end. I called the cops, and ironically they caught them passing more people illegally a few miles down the road. The best part, since they were all riding the same type and color of bike, with the same riding suits in the same color, they were charged for gang activities. Fucking win!

Year before last on collge visits, on our way across the country we were actually driven off the road by an insane pickup driver- which we called and reported. About five miles up the road we discovered they'd gone off the road into someone's ditch, and were trying to get away by wrecking their yard- we called the police again, and they came and caught the drunk wench and hauled her and her truck away. It was probably the most interesting thing that has happened to me in a vehicle, and the only time I've ever considered reporting someone.

Not a bad driver, but in a flying lesson a few months ago I was doing circuits with my instructor (taking off, flying in a rectangle and landing. Rinse and repeat 'till your bored). I was flying parallel to the runway when another aircraft almost landed on top of us at 1,000 ft. For one thing, he was not doing the landing pattern joining procedure that he was instructed to do by ATC (in fact the join he did doesn't exist to the best of my knowledge), secondly he was joining the pattern and so it was his job to spot us.

Long story short my instructor got pissed and reported it to the civil aviation authority (UK), we never knew what happened to him :p
