Everquest 2 F2P?

This seems very interesting to me and also a strange business option. Ive always been an avid WoW player and have only tried the free trial for everquest 2 once. It seemed like a good game and ive played other games based on Norrath (the game world) This F2P option releases hopefully today.

tl;dr Everquest 2 it going semi-free, Anyone on the escapist wanna play through this together? a few of my real life friends may try it as well but for the most part theyre playing WoW.

Played EQ2 since release. The day they posted their FTP plans I unsubbed - went to LOTR and never looked back.

Dying servers filled with paying customers and what is the choice for FTP? Have all the new FTP people on separate servers. Nice way to kill the current ones.

SOE can F off in my eyes - three strikes for me

#1 - EQ 1 - POK release
#2 - SWG - NGE
#3 - EQ 2 - EQ2X

I might try this game soon. I'll get it as my 3rd game this year(yup, I've been pretty bored, too) after the F2P officially goes live.

FYI to everyone who has never played EQ 2 - IMO it is probably the best PVE MMO out right now. Just needed more people. Way better than WoW - only problem is when they both came out WoW would run on a toaster and EQ 2 still gives high end machines a work out. That and EQ 2 doesn't hold your hand.

I would also look into getting and installing EQ 2 maps (atlas) - Makes things alot easier. I encourage everyone to try it when it hits FTP. I just won't play it because it won't be the game I signed up for.

I did notice that when i tried that the graphics are far superior. I dont see myself going hardcore for it like WoW but who knows, if enough people play i might.
