When you were right? This just happened to me, and was wondering what the other Escapist's experiances with this have been..

My dad has had a spot on his back for the past month or two, and early on, when I first saw it, I said it was an abscess, and I got completely ignored.

Earlier today, my dad went to the doctor. Guess what the doctor said? Abscess.

So fellow escapists, has something like this ever happened to you?

When this kind of thing happens to me, I just like to smile and look like a smug git and the people who ignored me get the message.

As such I am smug about 80% of the time I am around my parents because they refuse to take the advice of someone who actually learned IT in school over their own useless knowledge on the subject.

Well, when you're always right these things tend to happen. It's really annoying!!

But damn it, why did you even respond to this?? When a thread is called "Ever been completely ignored..." or something similar, you better ignore it!! Have I taught you nothing? But since you guys already ruined the joke, I might as well post...

Lately I have been telling my family a lot of things, big and small, whenever they ask for help or I see they may need it. One case that stands out at least is helping my dad try to fix the router they have at their house. I was able to fix it but I told him a new router was the best solution. He ignored me for a few months and now...

It broke again and he can't fix it and I am not around. So yeah.

Work some of the staff have been there for 30 years and can do things completely arsewise, try to do things differntly they go mad.

Case in point one of the chefs cannot make roast potatoes to save her life, while not a chef myself I told her to cut them smaller and she said I dont cut the potatoes when I'm roasting them.... I mean O.O what the actual fuck? Of course its notgoing to roast well look at the size of it? How did you get your job again?

I'm sometimes ignored for speaking my mind. More often then not, people know or have some idea of the truth but simply don't want to accept/hear about it. :/
I hear you... After being ignored I always love to see the tell-tale expression of "Ouch, yeah that be the truth hurting me". If only I was enough of an arsehole to rub it in when they inevitably admit it...

Honestly, I feel some people ask for advice knowing damned well what they don't wanna hear and act all pissy when it's the first thing to be said! Must be a psychological thing.

Dirty Hipsters at school. I'm really smart...they're elitist (which is dumb). Oh well, their loss. :)
They're elitist? From someone who just said "I'm really smart." Unbelievable.
Saying I'm smart doesn't make me an elitist. I'm self aware and confident. That's different from being a jerk.

Edit: Besides, do you think saying "I'm dumb but no one listens or pays attention to me" sounds better?

Happened to me three months ago man. Top it off with the fact that she got drunk and cheated on me, even when we practically had a fight about how she couldn't handle alcohol responsibly.

Nuts, was secretly hoping this thread would get 0 responses, just for the delicious irony. Oh well. Everyone gets ignored now and then. It's kinda fun when you get to do it to other people though =D
Give it a try!

I'm ignoring you now. It is quite fun.

I get ignored all the time, especially when I point out funny misspelled titles like this one.

FML man, at least it's her fault and not you. apparently on top of "i don't think i'm ready to be in a relationship" even though she gave me tounge which meant a lot, i'm not the right personality and i'm mean to people, like i don't show empathy she said (which is a sign of psychopath, which i am definitely not). it was so f**king random.

but hey, we're escapists, we're here for eachother, and i feel for ya

Urgh, i used to get ignored all the time by my ex

Me: "Your friend is trying to get you to go out with him"
Her: "He isn't, we're just friends, nothings going to happen"
Me: "He's feeling you up, he clearly wants to have sex with you"
Her: "He's not, we're just really close"
Me: "I really don't feel comfortable with how you act with him when he's clearly trying to get with you"
Her: "You're just being paranoid, don't be ridiculous. This is just how i act with my friends, stop trying to force me to be someone else."
Friend: "I don't think he's any good for you, I'd treat you like you were a princess. I love you far more than he ever will."

It's made worse by the fact that
1) This is not a direct quote, this is constructed from direct quotes from each of the four times we had the arguement.
2) She knew how much it upset me, never stopped her.
3) I told her i didn't like it about 4 guys, which corresponded to the four times we had this arguement. When you get sucess rates like that it's unfair to say someones being paranoid.

*****. /rant

So yeah, it happens to everyone.

Me too bro. She don't even know what she'll be missing man. If anything, your ex is losing out.
