As stated already, DEFCON. A "Global Thermo-nuclear War" simulator inspired by the old 80's movie, Wargames. And those pictures are from a game that I had just played before posting those pictures. Apparently my battleships (which is what those yellow things are) figured out how to cross Australia by land. Or it was because all the recent flooding that happened there. There was actually an article here on the Escapist that it was talked about it.

The game can have a weird beauty to it at times as you watch the slow flight of missiles and planes across the map and the movement of fleets at sea. That is until the city near where you live gets hit and you see the "X million dead" pop up.
