Well, everyone and I in SoCal are fine. Just going through the normal routine of college grind, working, and video games. Otherwise some fun time with friends and partner as of late. Got hands on with Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, and boy does it lighten up every possible mood right down to the core of anxieties.
Heart definitely goes out to any folk going through major damage out there.

As opposed to any other classmate? Methinks you need to watch out for the crazies a lot more than the muslims. There's not really been many attacks on schools by that lot- a lot less than frustrated white boyz with too many guns, bullets and too little to live for.

inu-kun is an Israeli living in Israel, if I remember right, so the fear is sort of justified, if just because there have been a series of recent stabbings around Israel. The stabbings were basically perpetrated by Muslim Palestinian malcontents and tensions are still running a bit high in that area.

On Topic: I'm fine, we've had no such madness going in the part of the US where I live, so knock on wood. Other wise I'm just a bit stressed and agitated about stuff going on in real life.

Living in ass crack Georgia, I'm about as far from any physical danger as it's possible to be, unless some super disease were to escape the CDC. Emotionally, my best wishes are going out to France, and the families of the people on that airliner. What a miserable couple of weeks it's been.

OT: I should be doing okay. I really should. Yesterday, I was fine. Happy even. But then, today, after I got home from work, a few friends of mine in a skype chat I'm in were talking about these stories that they were writing, and my insecurity jumped on that shit like a fucking pogo stick on a trampoline made of rubber and, on top of the class that I'm positive that I'm failing despite my best efforts, I just want to give up. There's nothing to bring you down more than the knowledge that someone, somewhere, closer than you think (in my case, everywhere that I go in my school) someone is able to do your job, probably better than you, without even knowing. I have read several articles, books, and taken classes on writing a decent story, and I know that I can't write half as good as the people that I go to school with by virtue of them just being smarter and more creative than me. And since I want to make my entire living from writing for video games, that's a REALLY bad thing, especially given that my college offers a degree in video game design that I FAILED because I'm too stupid to program competently. But, then I look at stuff like what happened in Paris and I keep my mouth shut in public because I know that if I complain about it to anyone I know, then they'll judge me for feeling sorry for myself despite having a pretty good life besides.

Personally been laid up with major back pain for 2 weeks now, only recently able to move around. On an emotional scale, saddened by a lot of things in the world. Trying best to divorce myself from things I cannot change, and wishing people would lay off of folks who've no agency other than sending their own version of good thoughts towards those affected by tragedy.

Yes, thank you for asking. Fallout 4 more or less met my big expectations, I've got a handful of friends (though all of them are from or are now out of state/country) I cherish, and my lifestyle is comfortable and stable.

Got a healthy little 11 month old boy, and we live in a quiet neighborhood in nowhere Canada. Job market has been sparse- I'm a VFX compositor in the film industry, and the local market just dried up- but I'm gonna take on the 'dad at home' job when my better half goes back to her much-steadier job, after her mat leave is up. I'll hit small contracts, including some illustration contracts if people are interested, on the side.

No one has shot at me, no one has even been really mean to me, and I am very fortunate in life.

As this forum's token "Tory Bastard" I'm mostly okay if really shaken up by the sheer scale of this.

However, this has echos of several previous attacks, On 7/7 Islamists performed near simultaneous suicide bombings on the London transport network which mirrors the near simultaneous nature of these attacks, yet the use of guns imported over the EU's schegen borders is a very new development and could bode poorly for the future of this conflict if they take a path similar to the IRA or other terrorist groups.

EDIT: I do have a personal friend with a family member who was injured in this, I'm doing my best to act as emotional support for them in this difficult time but it should all work out in the end.

Have blood flow issues with my legs (I drive several hours a day for my job and most of my leisure time is spent sitting) that I'm kinda concerned about and bills suck, but it's mostly just the day to day grind of waking up, working, playing, then sleeping.

Can't complain, especially considering recent events.

I'm alright, I think. Not great, but alright. A lot of things are wearing me down right now. The world in general and recent events has left me bummed me out as of late. Especially what happened in Paris. I live in Sweden though, so it's not like I'm in any real danger, but our country is still very much involved in the recent conflicts because of all the refugees that have ended up here. Compared to what they have gone through, though my problems seem miniscule.

I'm struggling with my current job as a janitor/cleaner. It's very physically demanding and I find myself being tired and hurting all over after each day. The fact that it's not even full time makes me feel even worse that I can't even handle it. It adds up to my metabolism problem. Basically, if I don't eat properly and according to schedule for a single day or two I'm boned. It's a constant stress factor since my family eyes me like hawks at all times making sure I don't screw up this time (It almost got really bad once).
The future seems uncertain too. I know that I want to be a concept artist/illustrator, but I feel I just don't have the drive, passion or skill for it which is frustrating cause there is no other career exept maybe VFX or audio production that I'm interested in.

Added to that I'm really worried about the problems my parents and siblings are facing, which I wont go into detail unless you're really interested since it's a bit personal.

But you know... Accept the things you can't change and all that. Probably fits well with the state of the world right now. Things could be much worse after all.

Well, I just watched a CNN correspondent in Paris come thiiiis close to telling Wolf Blitzer to his face that if it wasn't for the news media's fixation with rubbernecking that maybe, just maybe, at-risk youth wouldn't see terrorism as a viable way of getting attention.

I started hoping the correspondent would unzip his mask and reveal that he was in fact Forensic Psychiatrist Dr. Park Dietz all along, followed by a mike drop. So now I'm feeling a bit disappointed, but nothing to complain about. Stay safe, everybody.

Physically I'm still a bit sick, mentally well...considering that attack on paris happened and all the "geniuses" of the world are pointing fingers at either Muslims or Religion in general...I'm not great to be honest, and don't get me started on the sensationalizing of it...I get it 150 people dying is terrible and it absolutely sucks I am absolutely not denying that, but what about the thousands of others dying throughout the world? Nah, they didn't die because of terrorists, and if they did it wasn't in a first world country so who cares? *sigh* alot of the "media" really makes me sick...

Anxious due to the ridiculous attitude some people have here in excusing these attacks.

It is not as much condoning but being like "this has nothing to do with Islam or Islamic State" even after they declared it was them.

The world has gone social justice crazy and that is why there is no actual justice being exacted upon these people which means they can keep doing what they're doing, there will be new terrorist attacks, there will be more panic.

As for myself I'm abit split, on one hand what's happened in France and Syria is terrible and sad to hear about, but on the other I had my birthday party weekend (Friday - Sunday of LAN gaming with mates and drinking with most of my friends on the Saturday at another mates place) with my Birthday today. So it's a case of mixed feelings of happiness for my personal situation and sadness for what's going on around the world.
