I'm not for or against Capitalism and Socialism. But I just realised something, almost everything I own or use is "Made in China"

This gives an interesting twist to the healthcare debate in the US.

Not only do people use socialised healthcare, education, civil services like post and firemen.

The products of mega corporations, the epitome of capitalism get most of their stuff made in China, not really the most communist of countries now, but still

And so? Is there a point other than the irony of "Communist" China being Capitalist and Capitalist USA being Socialist?

China isn't exactly communist, the exsistance of Hong Kong alone means it can't be, so I don't see it as odd they have exports as well as imports.

That's not what the US has, or is going to have. That's the kind of thing Australia has.

My remote is Made in Mexico, but that might just be the casing.

Outsourcing really isn't a Socialist standard, it's just a practice of businesses. And as America supports Capitalism, we really can't step in and stop them as that would be Socialism.

Actually, I'm tired of the "cheap" products. I'm not made of money but if I'm going to buy something, I'm gonna get the best buy for my money. Not just whatever's cheapest. If I have to pay a little bit more to make sure it wont be the one that shits out on me in 2 days, so be it. And chances are that the Chinese product is made so cheaply, it will shit out or not live up to what it is supposed to do.

I think his point is pretty clear. There is a literal FEAR of the very idea of socialism in this nation. This is in spite of the number of products that we use that come from socialist nations or (to carry it further) the number of socialist institutions and trends already in place in our nation.

They pollute so we don't have to. And then we can point fingers and laugh as they all develop mutations and work their unskilled laborers to death.

China is stuck in the early 1900s. They need a freaking revolution over there, but nobody's going to help them if everybody is happy to let China be the world's Wal-Mart.

Okay I will give you that, being a student I know how you feel better then anyone. Some people want cheap products because they are cheap which I don't understand because most of cheap products don't do the job very well and break. I don't understand it when people aren't on a budget and want cheap products, surely having something do the job well and repeatedly doing the job is better and paying a bit extra is better then barely doing the job and only doing it a few times?
The fact is though there is a demand for cheap products and China is willing to supply that demand

My ruler was made right here in jolly old England. And I have a french pencil.
But I do remember almost every toy I had as a kid had "Made in China" written somewhere on it. It was the catchphrase of my toybox.

Yes if only China's pollution would think "O crap we can't cross the border" and stay in China. Sadly, that's not the case, far from it.

That's not true!. Aston Martin isn't made in China and as long as they keep making DB9's I will be happy. Also most of the chocolates in my fridge are European and so is my portable heater.

So no, not everything is chinese.

Nobody said it wasn't a serious problem for everyone, but where there's an obscene profit at the expense of the environment and the working class, nobody really cares. Besides, it's China. They certainly aren't the friendliest of countries.

I wasn't made in China, neither was my pencil, that pretty much proves Chinese don't control our all of our industries (only most of them)

Damnit, I forgot where I left this picture, if anyone has it please upload it, it was a box that said "AMERICAN FREEDOM" or something along those lines and underneath it said made in China.
