Akainu from One Piece. And he is a very hated character by the fandom because

He is not a pretty guy who killed the pretty guy.

Sunako, out of the anime shiki, you can't help but feel sorry for her even though she's killed 100's of people

I have two.

One is Wesker, and I really shouldn't have to explain why I like him, because you probably like him for the same reason I do.

The second is Vega of Street Fighter fame. I see a lot of myself in his vanity-soaked fabulousness, which is so grand in audacity that the whole sadistic serial killer ************ doesn't make me hate him as a character.

Charnel from Sacrifice.

Charnel is the only god in that game that isn't lying his ass off. James is prolly the 2nd most honest of the bunch, but Charnel plays it straight with you.

Marvin the Martian from the Looney Tunes. So likable despite that whole wanting to blow up the Earth thing.

Bill Wilson from Fallout 3 (one of the Andale cannibals). Gave us the line "Family first! And any man who says different is saying something wrong. And you should hit that man. With a stick." The latter part ("and you should hit that man. (pause) With a stick.") has become one of my catchphrases with my friends.

I'd say Kefka from FF6, but it's not that I like the character. It's that I like the character design. But after what Kefka did to Doma very early in the game? I wanted him dead and seethed with hatred at just how evil he was.

Jack of Blades from Fable 1. That guy is just the embodiment of badass-ness.
Agreed.

It was so worth surrendering my soul and consciousness in order to wear his mask.

Most of them?

I... can't think of a villain right off the bat that I didn't like, to be honest.

It's probably a weird fetish or something. ._.

Honestly though, I prefer the BoS to any of the major factions in NV. Sure, the Mojave chapter is not as citizen-friendly as the DC chapter, but overall I find them the best.
Actually, the Mojave chapter of the BoS is way closer to the Brotherhood from the original Fallout games than the DC chapter. You might call the DC Brotherhood's actions completely uncharacteristic of the actual Brotherhood. The main goals of the brotherhood are hoarding technology and being isolated, not helping the wasteland rebuild. Maybe that's why the DC chapter left.
I know...Just saying that, from the 2 Fallout games I've played, I prefer the BoS in DC. I was aware that the Outcasts in 3 were more akin to the actual Brotherhood, in fact they may not have differed from the California chapters at all, but I still prefer the Brotherhood in DC with which you can ally yourself.

I really liked Prez Eden from Fallout 3, he made me want to join the Enclave soo bad :(

Other than that, I liked Loghain from Dragon Age.
I HATED loagains guts the whole way through especially from an elves perspective, but when it was time for me to kill him I felt sorry for him, unfortunatley he had to die or alistair was going to leave, I supose it was justice
What about how he freed Ferelden from Orlais, does that count for nothing?
Besides, if he had attacked the Darkspawn at Ostagar, then he would have gotten killed and Ferelden would have no leadership. His reasoning was cold, but it made perfect sense.

Edit: While I respect Loghain, I hated Rendon Howe with a fiery passion (I was a human noble) so when I got to kill him I felt so satisfied.

Overall, the villains are generally much more interesting then the heroes. They can still be evil and you might hate them, but at least they aren't self-righteous a-holes like half the heroes in any mode of entertainment.

Sarevok (Baldur's Gate 1/2), Jon Irenicus (Baldur's Gate 2), and President Eden (Fallout 3) are all personal favorite gaming villains of mine. There are many more, of course, but those three are ones that I remember the most often.

Well, if it wasn't for this being the Gaming Forum it would be easy to say Omar Little and Al Swearengen wouldn't it. I may even see the fourth Pirates film because of Ian McShane. In games though, Shodan springs to mind because she is so unmistakably awesome.

Oh just re-read that non-game examples are good too.

Omar Little and Al Swearengen then, easy.
Don't worry. Omar counts, even in this forum. He's in the game, haven't you heard?

Oh, and President Eden from Fallout 3. I like them all.
I found it incredibly hard to hate the Enclave.

Okay, so !!spoilers alert!! they kill your dad and take his life's work !!spoiler end!!, but they didn't seem that bad, because a lot of what they did was usually for the greater good, and they were the remains of the US government. Their goodness was reinforced by how intelligently you speak with President Eden.
