Greetings good people of the Escapist Forums. Have you ever had the desire to take over the world? Do you ever dream of running a top secret base on an undisclosed island of indiscriminate location? Do you relish the idea of watching your pathetic enemies fall into nefarious traps or be interrogated using laser beams and giant blenders? If so, then the good news is that Elixer Studios and Sierra Entertainment developed Evil Genius, a game that does all these things and more with unmatched 60's style.

The bad news is that there is yet no sequel. (although there is a very nice Facebook App put out by Rebellion Studios) The fans of EG have petitioned Rebellion to create a sequel, and the response we got back was that an EG sequel was on their road map, but petitioning a multi-millionaire to sponsor them might yield better results.

The question I have is this. What are constructive ways for average gamers like myself to assist in the creation of a project that I have neither the technical expertise nor money to directly get involved in? Have their been other fan movements that have succeeded in supporting their sequel? Note that EG had a pathetic marketing campaign and is a wholly unique game which has made it a gem but also not mainstream.

You will answer in the next 24 hours or the next agent from your country will be interrogated in the Stress Test Analyzer.

I want to see Dungeon Keeper 3 in RTS god-look style.
Peter, you did such wonderful creative things, why not return to farting red bile demons and masochistic black widows? In my opinion your 97 game was the greatest you ever made.

Be heard. Make a twitter account, facebook, talk about it and create hype. If there's enough hype, enough people waiting for it - then there is a safe gaurentee of returns and therefore more people will be inclined to invest in the project.

It's all down to money. EG didn't make a good deal of money and was released still in a buggy state. Like Psychonauts, it did become a cult hit (and you can guess I adore it); but it's not commercially viable.

Much as I'd love it to be.

Evil Genius was fun, yet it had a couple of design flaws. They had to work around them to make a sequel work.

Alright then, let's broaden the question.

What are some things that people can do to make the entire genre (Dungeon Keeper, Startopia, Ghost Master, and Evil Genius) more commercially viable?
