It's a little while since release and the criticism over the game being "designed with DLC in mind" and as a "DLC portal" has died down a little, the game has slipped into obscurity pretty quickly and they have not released all the DLC yet so that doesn't bode well for their ambitions.
Many people, including reviews were scathing about the DLC plans for the game but did they approach it badly? If they had sold £0.50p plastic models of the ingame monster for £10 with a QR code to add the monster DLC would the reception have been better?
Using cheap plastic toys as portal for day one, on disk DLC has been incredibly successful for other publishers and console makers. Instead of criticism for it they receive praise and incredible demand, would a plastic model of a wraith and the other monsters done the same for 2K and Evolve?
