From IGN: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/108/1083048p1.html
summary: UK, April 12, 2010 - Vince Zampella and Jason West, the two former heads of Infinity Ward who have been recently embroiled in an increasingly bitter lawsuit with Activision, have joined EA to form an all-new outfit named Respawn Entertainment.

-----------------------------

Intresting. with this new studio will they try to take down modern warfare?

I think a better question is if they take over bad company from DICE or help DICE create the third installment.

On the lawsuit between Activision and those two, EA stayed quiet. Jeff Brown said:-

"We don't have the time to comment on the many lawsuits Activision files against its employees and creative partners,"

Nice and impartial there.

Another Modern Warfare/let's indirectly shoot Russia game?

Urgh, I just can't cope with that shit.
You know what, I'll bet in Russia they have a game in which we're the bad guys and they beat us in the game.

EA seems to be pretty badass with its comments at the minute, that and dumping free games all over the place, one wonders if Jeff Green is behind all of this :p

So like the Russian bits in WaW with more arse-licking and formidable non-sick enemies? I like :)

I hope they make a new FPS series.

I hope they focus on single player and make an amazing, set piece filled shooter that's 20 hours long.

There are very few such games, and they have extremely low budgets. Cheap nationalistic tripe.

Honestly after MW2 I think I'm done with multiplayer. Gonna play it a little bit more and probably let the gold account run out again.

So I don't care if they even include multi in thier next game.

Dull surprise.

Either way, more's the better. I must be one of the few people who actually like EA, so I'm pretty happy that they pick up Activision's fallout. Hopefuly, this'll just be the beggining of yet another Activision story on "Look at me, I shot myself in the foot!"

Nice and impartial?! In other words it sounds to me as "Since they sue their employees so many times, we dont have enough time to comment on the lawsuits." So more on the bitter sarcasm side, that can also be translated as "We dont even care to comment, those guys at Activision are paranoic."

My prediction: Respawn will flop.

IW really only had Call of Duty to thier name, and that IP was owned by Activision since before even CoD:1 hit the shelves. It probably won't continue to be a strong IP (I reckon with this news CoD7 will be the last - thankfully), and Respawn might see a slight surge in revenue as the fanboys move over, but I can't see the ex-IW guys actually create any new IP, especially as the only new IP they developed whilst still IW was signed over to Activision over a year ago.

Not that EA care, it was more a publicity stunt to get the support of gamers awat from the Activision bloc to the EA bloc. EA already have DICE making better "modern" combat games than IW did, I just hope they don't let Respawn collaborate for Battlefield 3 when that is finally released.

What? "War in the middle east"-game isn't an IP. They just do what they've done very well since the first CoD, make a first person shooter about a war.
