Exchange program to Japan...

Hey guys, just wanted to ask anyone who's been to Japan if they recommend I go on this exchange program with my university.

Also especially anyone whos been to Hiroshima (thats where its at), is it just like typical Tokyo Japan style city? Thats my real only quarrel.

I studied for a year over there, myself. I recommend it very highly...assuming you can get scholarship money (look up JASSO at the very least).

Sadly, I don't know a whole lot about Hiroshima; I lived in Yokohama, and the closest I ever got to Hiroshima was a shinkansen stopover. I'm under the impression that it's sort of a typical city, though keep in mind that Tokyo is far from typical (it's fuggin' enormous, what it is).

The only non-historical thing I know about Hiroshima is that they have awesome okonomiyaki.
