It's like comparing a village to a nation. The scope is too great. A guys "poker night" would be like a party chat, or friends list instead of the gaming community as a whole.
How do you dissect the gaming community into gaming communities, anyhow? I mean if you go into genres (Fps, sports games, TPS, RPGs, strategy, etc.), that's still pretty huge to just boot out an entire gender.
Games are supposed to be for everyone, IMO. Excluding women from games is like saying they can never play poker, or buy a deck of cards anywhere.
Yeah, games are targeted at guys, by and large (At least mostly in the past 13 years), but that doesn't stop women from trying to enjoy them.
