Exclusive? Maybe not.

So some people recently forked 100 bucks on EBay for all three pre-order characters for Transformers: War for Cybertron... aaaaaand those same characters are going to be in the first DLC for the game, which I bet will cost a hell of a lot less than 100 clams.

This is why I don't buy pre-order "exclusives".

Unless it's a Bethesda game, then, you're gettin' your money's worth for DLC. Still, it's less than 100 bucks...................Wow, I'd never pay that much for any add-on.

I agree, that's just stupid. I mean, I guess it's their money, but I'd never spend 100 on DLC for a single game that wouldn't even expand it too much.

That is just ridiculous. I'd say something if it was exclusive but you say it's coming in the DLC? Ridiculous but they can spend their money however stupidly they want.

The first DLC will feature 5 characters (including the three pre-order characters) and new maps. I'm betting it'll cost less than ten bucks.

They payed 100 bucks for roughly half of the DLC's content.

I'd say it's beyond stupid.

A company charges for useless DLC (and not even much mind you) once and your going to stick a horrible rep on them till the end of time?

The addon's for Morrowind where all free, except the expansion packs (Tribunal and Morunhold) which where massive.

For Fallout 3 the DLC added a crap load of game play and items.

That leaves Oblivion which had the Horse Armor, Mehrune's Razor, the Wizard Tower DLC, and the Evil Lair DLC all added very little to the game, but they all cost very little as well, and most included a quest as well. Then came Shivering Isles where they decided to make it all up to us.

Seriously Bethesda is one of the few companies doing DLC that I don't really have a problem with. Might want to rag on EA a bit who is trying to charge upwards of $5-$10 for some friggin costumes that do nothing.

Did you only get the three characters or was it like a Special Edition box with stupid resin models or whatever? On topic it can still be called exclusive since not everyone in the world has PSN or XBL, it's thin and bullshitty but there you go.

It was one character per store chain. They are multiplayer-only characters that you got when you pre-ordered from a specific store.

Being in Europe, I got a Starscream action figure with my pre-order, and I'm happier for it. Now there's a cool pre-order bonus that you can't get via DLC.

I agree. I enjoyed nearly all of the Oblivion DLC, except for the Horse Armor. Because even if the content wasn't very good it didn't cost me too much, and at least gave me a half an hour of new crap to do in a game that I loved. If they charged what some other companies charge for DLC I might feel differently, but in my book Bethesda did alright with DLC.

......really? You'd hope that people wouldn't be this stupid, but lo and behold...

I see this happening again soon with Fallout New Vegas, as that has four exclusive outfits from different retailers.

It seems that no matter how many times these so-called exclusives get released as DLC's within two months of the game's release, some people just don't get it.
