Hey guys, I'm a big fan of a lot of Japanese music and I'm looking to get into some other artists. Some of the ones that I really like are:

Namie Amuro
BoA
Crystal Kay
Maximum the Hormone (I know that this one seems out of place here)
SCANDAL
Yui

There's a lot more but those are the most frequent for me. Any ideas guys?

Edit: I'm looking for other Japanese artists.

Damnit, you already named the few Japanese bands I listen to, namely Melt Banana, Boredoms, and Mono. And I guess Merzbow... Although I really can't get into him, partially because is music is so inaccessible even by my standards and his discography is so huge and I have no idea where to start.

These suggestions might be a bit off. I usually would recommend something based on the person's taste, but I haven't heard of any of the band you listed except for Maximum the Hormone, and I only heard like one song by them.

Nujabes is also great. Jazz and hip hop fusion.

The Pillows. Just finished watching FLCL again, so they are fresh in my mind.

Deerhoof is amazing.

I'll get around to listening to what you have listed so I get a better read of your tastes.

Don't know if this is your kind of music but Nightmare, galneryus, makichang, SID, ALvino, Ayaka are favourites of mine.

Edit: Makichang is more of a singer than a band but I think she's worth a look at
Sorry if this isn't your sort of music

I listen to quite a bit of Japanese music and out of the top of my head, the ones I can think of at the moment, are.

Finally one of my personal favourites.

Those where just example songs of the bands, I've introduced, so if you enjoyed them then feel free to search for more.

Hope I helped.

Personally I'm partial to Abingdon Boys School, L'arc~en~ciel and The back horn.
Oh, and this is often very beautiful too:

Oh, and Kota Hoshino makes some epic soundtracks. The Armored Core soundtracks are some of the best music I know.
