Explain my weird dream

Why did I dream last night about Russians trying to take my blood in an empty city where the Emperor from Warhammer 40,000 is looming over everything? What makes it worse was that I woke up to my mother shaking me to go to a blood test doctor's appointment I knew little if anything about.

Does this fear of blood being taken from me in my dreams and spilling into the reality of a blood test appointment I dread mean anything?

I didn't drink ANYTHING last night at the bar my University's comedy night was at. I severely doubt that the stand-up of Wil Anderson has hallucinogenic ingredients. Maybe it was because he projected his getting drunk while performing on the entire audience.

My friends tell me to get out more, and this is what happens to me.

Interestingly enough I think the pattern of symbology works like this:

40k Emperor on his Golden Throne = my fear of authoritarianism

Russians trying to take my blood: Day Watch much?

Day Watch connection -> blood test anxiety = it comes full circle when my fear of authoritarianism ties into this mandatory blood test my doctor needs.

Well obviously you were bitten by a vampire in the night. Go to your local priest for a... cure.

Your dream, it is weird. And rooted in fears that plague you by day but you suppress, so they have to come out when you have your guard down.

Note before: just before I went to bed, I was reading a LiveJournal essay on the Mormon content of Twilight. Hmm.... it often happens to me that the media I encounter just before I fall asleep influences my dreams.

Despite what Freud would say, I'm pretty certain dreams don't mean anything. Particularly since you can learn to control the events in your dreams. I've found that I have limited control over events the majority of the time (not lucid dreaming; a lower level of that), and am very good at remembering dreams. Being an amateur writer, I often try to use dreams to experiment with characters and plot ideas. Rarely does anything come of it, but it's not like I can do anything better with that time, so I may as well have fun with it.

The Necrons were contacting you with an indoctrination signal.
NOT THE NECRONS! The Harbinger and The C'tan will soon raid my mind!

I also remember from my dream that I wanted to take a picture of The 40k Emperor: yet I forgot to bring my camera to that wretched city where the Emperor sits on his Golden Throne. Have a guess why I didn't bring my camera...

Maybe you're like Big Boss, he has weird dreams when he talks about Dracula.
