I was just thinking about expo's and wanted to know when the next E3 type one was?

Since asking that question alone is spamming the forums, I would like to ask you all, have you ever gone to any type of expo? Would you go again? What was your experience of them? You know, all the usual type of questions.

Personally, I have never been to one and probably never will. I'm not a people person and large crowds make me feel uncomfortable, not to mention I have heard stories of the ... "aroma" of large conventions. Queuing for hours to have a short go at a game doesn't seem appealing either, even if it is sometime before most other people will get to play THE big up coming release.

Then there is the whole traveling thing, sleeping arrangements etc just not enough pro's to out weigh the cons for me.

I have been two two anime expo (MCM Expo) well I'm going to my third time in weeks time.

I pretty much have an awesome experience whenever I go in one and this year I going to cosplay (Travis Touchdown)!!!

Honestly you shouldn't really let the big crowd put you off (sure big crowd is annoying when the area is small and also get sweaty aswell) as you are in a room with other people who all share the same interest as you (gaming, anime or whatever the expo theme is)! In saying so I lived in the middle of nowhere so I don't exactly got people to talk about games or animes.

Sure I do agreed with the whole travel cost, time arranging and ticket and spending costs but at the end of the day it's all worth it for the experience alone since afterall, life is short.

True, I remember going to "download" in the UK and it was enjoyable, even though I did go by myself and was surrounded by about 45,000 strangers. I kind of like doing things just for experience, got my lip pierced for that reason.

Whether other people were interested in gaming or not, I wouldn't talk to them ... it's quite rare for me to start a conversation with anybody, let alone a stranger.

I'd say don't knock it until you try it, expos are fantastic. I've been to 5, my 6th on the 20th and I love them. Look around for expos in your area, you'd be surprised.
Share hotels with friends to cut down costs, book trains or planes in advance.
Be prepared to want to spend lots though!
As for queues, they aren't great but most offer an advance entrance ticket you can buy online so you don't have to queue for hours.
Even so, they usually last a good 6-9 hours, plenty of time to look around.

The atmosphere is great cos everyone is so friendly, if you're a fan of cosplay you're in heaven too!
