Hey, so I very recently got a new PC and I have two external hard drives which I use for storage, one is 1.5TB and the other is 3TB, both are Western Digital.
The problem is that the 3TB hard drive isn't being recognized by my new computer, yet the 1.5TB one works fine. I've tried multiple USB ports and the 1.5 works in every one, but the 3 works in none of them. Additionally, the 3TB hard drive works fine when I plug it into another computer (which is running Windows 7 and my new computer is running Windows 8.1 by the way.)
Anyway, some ideas to help me overcome this issue would be greatly appreciated!
Edit: I managed to solve the problem by removing the hard drive from my devices list, unplugging it, turning my computer off and on and then plugging it back in. Which seems to have reinitialized the drive, this time with no problems.
