I need to get a new external HDD and was looking for suggestions for a good one. I am only going to be using it for back up and want something that will work, basically. I used to have a Seagate drive, but after one time it didn't work again. The computer could no longer read it, it didn't come with a disc, and there were no drivers or support online. As for size, anywhere from 160-320GB would probably be more than enough. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you have $100 to spend. I would highly recommend an external 1 Terabyte drive. One with only 1 usb plug. It would be small and in case you have a fire in your house and you have everything on it you can take it and go without worrying about the power supply.

I would suggest you check newegg.com. They have good deals and get one with good customer reviews.
