Perhaps I'm the last one to hear about this, since the video below is a few weeks old, but they certainly have confirmed that Ezio is in Soul Caliber V. I had heard rumors and saw that infamous screen shot, but no actual confirmation. Then they advertised it on the Youtube homepage. Yay.

Chances of me buying Soul Caliber V without Ezio: 0%
Chances of me buying Soul Caliber V with Ezio: Pretty #$@!ing high!

Magical being with a hugeass magical sword vs. Ezio Auditore da Firenze.

This is the first time in my life I can say I wouldn't want to be a magical being with a hugeass magical sword.

I've known for a while about this.

To be honest, It's a bit annoying, seems like a sell out, I don't useually complain about this stuff, but SC4 did it with star wars and now Assassin's creed, it is a bit sad.

But then again, it's Ezio, and SC4 had some interresting conecept, hence why I own it, I won't pass judgement before I've tried it.

That's pretty cool! But I have a question.

Soul Caliber V is about battles to the death and killing ruthlessly and stuff, Ezio is a paid assassin, master in stealth and silent kills. Why would Ezio kill someone in such a public and flashy display? It doesn't make sense with his character or back story.

That's not all Ezio is good at. You can't have played either of his currently available titles and not have been surrounded by 10 guys at once, which he can still dispatch rather easily, and often without a scratch on him.

Not to mention he's faced "boss battles" before in both of the Borgia battles at the end of each main storyline.

I'm probably going to just find a way to rent this, because beyond Ezio I have no interest in any of the other stuff.

I like the idea, because Ezio is easily in my top three baddasses, it's kinda awesome to think about him crossing over and kicking other people's asses.

"Oh, you've got magical powers and are three times my size? That's great, I'm going to kill you now with a small hidden blade."

Well, yeah, but almost never "facing 10 dudes" was strictly obligatory, and the game encourages you to run away when things get messy. Not to mention in Brotherhood, the Papal Guards were nothing but cheaters. They had the same hidden gun you had (Which was supposedly one of a kind) with no reload times.

And the only reason you could take on 10 dudes in AC1 and 2 it's because of the counters. Almost every other approach left you pretty messed up. AC:B brought the streaks which made Ezio from a tactical assassin to a murderer. You could literally "Counter, Streak, Streak, Repeat" for the entirety of the game and kill 500 dudes if it pleases thee.

I'm not saying he doesn't "belong" to SC, I've never owned one and the little I've played didn't particularly liked (It ain't my cup of tea), I'm saying it doesn't "fit" with Ezio's background, he's stealthy, he supposedly wants to avoid being seen, and strikes one true blow to end the fight.

That is how he handles things, except when he doesn't, like in the Boss battles I mentioned.

An assassin uses whatever tactic will suit him or her best. Sometimes getting VERY seen and drawing attention to yourself is actually the best tactic, so I disagree that it doesn't fit. When facing a very tough opponent, it may be best to not be stealthy, for if you fail they could be the one countering YOU.

Hate to be "that guy" but this is fairly old news.

Anyways, I'm not a fan of Assassin's Creed, so this does nothing for me. And after Soul Calibur 4 (which I thought was kinda crap), I'm not exactly waiting with baited breath over another one.

Yeah and Soul Calibur 3 had Heihachi, Link and Spawn. Newest Mortal Kombat has Kratos. Street Fighter X Tekken has Cole McGrath.

It's not a new thing, and I'm very confused of your usage of "sell out".

Eh, SC is a terrible fighting game, definitely not fluent enough with its combat. No amount of special crossover characters will tempt me.

Just becuase I didn't tear MK a new one dosen't mean I don't see it that way.
But, MK had redeeming qualities in it beeing the best fighting game in the last 10 years IMO.

And I have never touched a soul caliber game, or even heard of it before the 4. one, so I can't comment on that. And street fighter can go die in a ditch together with infamouse for all I care.

Just because it isn't a new thing to do dose not mean it isn't a sell out.
