I wish I had a funnier story to tell, but I was playing Homefront. I tried to like it. I really did. After three hours I just said, "Fuck you, game!" Awful horrible, terrible, wretched game.

Every boss fight in lost odyssey. I am by no means an expert at J-rpg's but I have beaten a few. In fact, to this day, one of my all time favorite games is legend of dragoon for ps1. But for some reason, I don't know if its just because I haven't played a J-rpg in a while or the game was just made too dam hard (I probably just suck), but I can not beat the bosses. I gave up early on in the game, and now every time I look at the game thinking maybe this is the day I finally grow a pair and beat the first disk, I get flashbacks to the countless times I died on that stupid giant snake-worm-ish boss thing, and just put it back on my shelf curl up in a corner and cry my self to sleep.

And this sucks because I REALlY liked how the story was going, and the collectible memories of the main character's past were really interesting to me. Guess i could just watch a lets play or a walk-trough tho

Yeah. I hate CoD.

I just watched the 1982 version of The Thing to refresh myself for the prequel coming out. It always makes me laugh when Kurt Russell nerd rages right at the beginning.

personally, Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox made me flip a few tables before I finished it.

Thanks for reminding me... Yes, I very much would love to take down a chopper, that is constantly charge-hoovering against me, with only a few exploding arrows that does not hit for shit.

Playing Demon's Souls last week, I made it to the swamp area. I encounter a Black Phantom wielding a Meat Cleaver (which happened to be the same weapon I was using). We were on a tiny island in the marsh, and I ended up in the water when I tried to dodge (your movement is slowed severely and you can't dodge while wading in the water). But I tried to use that to my advantage by baiting the Phantom into the water himself. Then I come to find that the same rules don't apply to him. He dodges and attacks me. I instinctively attempt to dodge myself, but it doesn't work. It leaves me wide open, and I die.

I fucking hate the swamp. I just sprinted the whole way through it after dying a few times. Only part of the game (other than Flamelurker, but at least that felt fair) that gave me trouble.

I had a few moments like this while playing Vanquish as well.

Trials HD, I do go back to it every now and again but it almost always ends badly. One particular achievement involving completing a certain track whilst not changing your rider's position.

Black Ops due to putting me into five matches in a row on the losing team with less than five seconds remaining. Still havn't gone back to multiplayer after that.

The Last Remnant... when one of my teams barely survives a super attack and the only available options are "Fight to the last man" and "sit still and do nothing" instead of "heal yourselves" or "revive fallen team" SOOOOO frustrating!

Oh god, so many JRPG's. I can't think of any game broken as hell that prevented from playing it. Fallout 3 annoyed me at times, anything else I just found the fix for it. Clearing my 360's cache for Oblivion a couple times was really really annoying though. Not only had I never had to do it before that game, but I ended having to update all my games each time (Luckily I only have like 10 that need updates)...

You, my friend, are going to be verbally fucked. I do not agree with your sentiment, but I respect the balls it took to write that on any gaming board in existence.

*Pats shoulder* Godspeed.
Well, then, I look forward to it ;)
Also, I love your avatar, amazing EP

This will be a 2-parter:

Part I: Psychonauts - it's a brilliantly funny and clever game with levels like you've never seen before - from the mind bending Milkman Conspiracy, the brilliant parody of Goggolor to the theater level which I would accept as a substitute for an IQ test (if you best it you are over 115 at least).

And then...

Meat Circus. The difficulty level goes insane and the game turns cheap with invisible attackers, unblockable attacks, sound clips that repeat until you are driven insane, a camera that stops showing you (really), and - did I mentioned the level is timed?

Breezed through the game and got stuck...played forever and game up. Started it a year later - breezed through it and got stuck....again...same place. Started it a year later - after borrowing it from a friend - and after a near death experience I beat the level.

The level after that is a cakewalk by comparison and the "boss" fight is the easiest level in the game - seriously.

Do you know why the brilliant Tim Schaeffer (sp?) games don't sell in Halo numbers? Because I've cursed him - and I'm still not yet ready to forgive.

in Bioshock where you have to get through a door to the art curator guy on the other side, and I think it might've been a bug, but I couldn't get through to the other side. No idea what I was meant to do.

and in Duke Nukem: Forever, after you leave the late night show room at the very start, and I got stuck in the foyer with out knowing what to do, or whether my game had just broke. So I uninstalled and quit, and will pretend that I never bought it for $100 dollars. NO I DIDN'T! NOT LISTENING. DENIAL LIVE IN DENIAL!!!

I nearly rage quit over final fantasy X for their sigils, but not because the Sigils are hard to get. They are hard to obtain mind you but this is basically what happened.

I was doing the chocobo races to try and get Tidus' ultimate weapon activated, and after four hours my best time was still 2.3 seconds. So I said fuck it, and decided to try a different character's sigil.

So I went to the thunder plains, and got 187 jumps. 187, just 13 away from the amount I actually needed. Then boom, I didn't press at the right time, and I lost the count.

So finally I said fuck it, and just decided to do something a little easier and do some monster catching in the game. Well I got five of all monsters and unlocked one of the original creations that gives you 60 dark matter for unlocking. Wanting to see what Dark Matter does, I scrolled through and saw "Break Weapon Damage Limit," the ONE FUCKING FEATURE ANYONE EVER GETS FOR ULTIMATE WEAPONS!

I nearly threw my controller at my TV in a fit of rage.

After that, I simply calmed down, and went to an online site that details the 4 specific abilities of each ultimate weapon and discovered that I could just easily frigging build them if I wanted, and I did.

So yeah, in case anyone still plays FFX and is frustrated beyond belief trying to get the sigils, don't bother. Dark Matter is easier to obtain. Just beat the ever loving shit out of Catastrophe a bunch of times with Anima or something.

Every VALVe game I've preordered, on release night. . .

Episode 2, Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Portal 2, ALL had 4-5 issues that hindered me from playing once they were released. Be it missing files, decryption failure, "updating" the game (when its really redownloading the whole thing).

And it's only VALVe games, Deus Ex, Bad Company 2, Borderlands, BioShock 2, decrypted and launched within 20 minutes of them being released. Meh. Fuck you VALVe.
Portal 2 crashed a several points in the game, but I restarted and jumped back in anyway... even though I know it would probably be better to wait a week for them to iron out the kinks, but I don't want my friends to have completed it before I do.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

That game was pissing me off with its secondary objectives always making me restart every other mission like 3 times because I was "oh-so-close" to completing it that I just had to try it again.

Well, when I got to the last mission I'd spent 45 minutes killing enemies and making my way to the end. Then because for some reason Brotherhood's controls just sucked ass (compared to AC2) I was having a hard time fighting the boss. And eventually I'd lost the secondary objective.

In Brotherhood if you fail the secondary objective, you can't start from a checkpoint, you can't just kill yourself and start from where you were. No. You have to do THE WHOLE F*CKING MISSION ALL OVER AGAIN FROM SCRATCH.

Couldn't be fucked with Unlimited Saga by Squenix. Gave up ten hours in and that 9 hours too long. Biggest waste of time, money and life I've spunked away on a 'it'll be OK, its Square Enix' - Pants from start to wherever i got to... It hardly ever filled me in on any progress and felt like Subbuteo and was on PS2. Wank. Pure wank.

The last 2 stages of dead space 2 did that to me just because they are so goddamn cheap, nothing like fighting one horde of necros after another with no item machine or save point inbetween.
To tell you, I am with you, I FREAKING MADE IT THERE ON A PINT OF BLOOD!

Seriously FUCK THE EYE MACHINE, AND FUCK YOU GHOSTS, FUCK THE REST OF YOU UNDEAD TOO! I was expecting the game to be a cheap, cheeky bastard and instantly kill me after being shot. God, JUST WHY!!?? The combat engine isn't GOOD ENOUGH! Also, there WERE save points and boxes on the last stretch, BUT if you stopped you were dead, to a very large extent. HOW YOUR SUPPOSED TO BEAT THAT BIT WITHOUT A SAVE IS BEYOND ME!

Thats not the worst bit, on hard core, you have to survive that bit, without a save, beat the boss, without dying, THEN make it through the Rocketeer bit without getting anal probed.
You know what devs.....

PART II: Almost all Civilization games.

I don't understand how but EVERY SINGLE GAME they release has huge problems on Day 1.
Civ II - Fundamentalism is the ONLY rational choice - just buy enemy cities!
Civ III - Corruption so bad you might as well stop at six cities - more WEAKENS you somehow.
Civ IV - Glitch central - was unplayable out of the box. No Internet? No game then.
Civ IV Expansion - Gee, random game shutdown - hope to love restoring games and autosave every turn.

And the big winner: Civilization Revolutions
Are console gamers mentally handicapped? The game designers think so - it's a VERY dumbed down. I expected Civ 4.5 but it's mostly Civ 2 with a very few ad-ons - and 70% of everything else removed - Sciences, Units, Buildings - gone. Go from Horsemen to Knights to Tanks - and that's it for mobility attack pieces. No Cavalry, Dragoons, Advanced armor, etc.

1. It's so easy - the highest level is nothing - just ICS.
2. Multi-player doesn't work - gee, there's a shock.
3. The DLC is utter crap. Since 70% of what I expected is missing charging more for things that belonged in the game in the first place is an insult.

And for Civilization V - just Google "Civilization V problems". Jeez, what a disaster. It could have been worse though - I could have bought it - and I didn't. Sid's crew finally convinced me not to bother.
