Ooookay. So I walk into this area where I have two paths in front of me, each of which leads down to same courtyard, which is covered in alien scum. There's a group of about 15 NPC soldiers covering the left path, but the right one is clear. As soon as I look down the right path, about 5 aliens randomly charge me. After some experimentation, I concoct a strategy. I immediately kill the charging aliens with a well placed grenade, then proceed to throw (let me think for a sec...carry the three and you get) NINE FUCKING GRENADES at the rest of the aliens. I do this because this is one of those sections that FPS developers love where the enemies just keep spawning until you make it past a certain point. I also can't stay in one place for very long because if I do, the stupid AI just charges me en masse. Not to mention the fact that my NPC allies routinely get overpowered and killed in about 20 seconds, so I have to watch THEIR asses too, or risk getting flanked. So I pretty much have to kill them all in one giant attack and move on. Now, I THOUGHT nine grenades (each of which hit their mark, I was very proud of myself) would do that, but NOPE! There's still about five left when I run to the other end of the courtyard, and another group just spawned right in front of me anyway. Now, I was AMAZING. Seriously, I probably killed around 20 aliens in half as many seconds. Even after the grenade attack failed, I still shot/beat down at least 10 more before I died. AND THEY JUST. KEPT. COMING.

So, accepting the fact that even my godlike talent is not enough for this challenge, I try lowing the difficulty. It sends me back to the very beginning of the level, about an hour and a half of gameplay, a miniboss, and at LEAST ten checkpoints ago.

That's where the "FUCK YOU, GAME" moment happened, if that wasn't clear.

I remember Assassin's Creed 2 - did five hidden armor areas - no problem. Number six changes jumping completely and the camera fucks you. Get ready for 90 degree jumps - and lots of them - and it's timed. I gave up.

The best party - it's to get armor that never needs repair but since you'll have a mountain of gold and no reason or way to spend 95% of spend it anyway armor repair isn't going to affect you at all.

5 cathedrals = waste of time.

AN example of my latest shenanigans:
Thrower dodges away from opponents, needs only a 2+ on a 6 sided dice, rolls a 1, never mind use a reroll, rolls another 1..sigh. Thrower then falls down due to failed dodge, gets injured from the fall ( fall breaks 8 points of armour on 2x6sided dice ), injury results in death ( 12 on 2x6 sided dice ), use apothecary to reroll injury result, 12-Dead again.. wooo

Stuff like this happens all the time, one time i rolled 1 then another 1, 5 times in a row. So that's double 1, 5 times in a row. The odds of that are in the 10's of thousands.
Sometimes i wonder if i should go to a casino and bet on double 1's i roll them that often in both virtual dice games and real dice games.

Penumbra Requiem. I made it all the way to the end of a long level, with treacherous first person platforming, to realize I had forgotten one key to the exit portal. I get what they were trying to do with the game, but seriously, Penumbra is supposed to be about suspense, stealth, and tension, not platforming and test chambers. If I wanted that, I'd play a better game like Portal.

Can't wait for the HATE MAIL but spent four and a half hours playing Oblivion and fucking hated the thing. I play tons of RPGs but WTF this was monotonous and indulgent from the get go. No more- sold it on and thankful for the release- a pittance but will keep someone amused for months. Needless to say, Skyrim better be amazin now I've learnt my craft...

I successfully did what no other gamer would ever think of doing I got lost in the second level of Star Wars: TFU1. How the hell did that even happen?!

I was also like that when fighting Tabuu in SSBB. GODDAMN ONE-HIT KILLING ******!

Any RTS game where you can do a single player skirmish against the computer. Empire Earth, Startcraft, Command & Conquer, etc. there is always a vast difference between how defensive and offensive the enemy AI is when playing the story and playing a skirmish.

Any time I start a game within like 10 minutes the AIs rolling over my meager base with tanks and I'm like "the hell? I just created my 5th soldier, how the hell are they building this fast???"

I try to play games for fun, and for the most part I do. But I sure as hell just lose it when the combination of the system and game decide to go fuck you, I'm crashing now.

Big Warhammer fan, so this kills me.

Space Marine multiplayer can bite me. I still play it. I'm still freaking in love with it. But this is such a lag fest that I can't even beginning to comprehend. And it's one of those games that favors the laggers. I'm safe behind a wall and he's shooting me with a bolt pistol? Still killed. That lagging Raptor is swinging at a stairwell and I'm about ten game feet away? still killed. I finally lined up the perfect headshot and am about to hit the mouse 1... "Migrating to a New Host"... Prey moved away in that time.

The worst part is, they have the makings of a great multiplayer here. Have the armor pieces mean something than just visual dressing, like the Spiked Shoulder pad giving more damage when ramming, or Battle Damaged giving you weaker armor but it has an Auspex built into it. Add that along with perks, and with the sheer number of armor, you'd have no two players playing the same.

There's so much lore too. Have more Challenges where you unlock other chapters, and chapter specific traits. you unlock the Emperor's Children, and instead of a melta gun, you get sonic blasters. wouldn't just be a skin either. Charge it up and kill one person and dizzy others in a small radius. Unlock Space Wolves and get frost blades, the strongest chain weapons in the game. Iron Hands are faster because of their extensive bionics (I know someone will think of the White Scars, but remember their quickness comes from their bikes) and The Night Lords can become invisible in the shadows. There's so much lore that could have lended to such a massively satisfying and ever changing multiplayer experience.

Instead (while I am addicted), it feels like THQ just read a few weapons, made a few classes, and made some skins instead of making true Space Marines and Traitor Legions.

If any of you from THQ are miraculously reading this, Make the sequel to Space Marines a single player and co-op, and come out with a fully realized Chapters and Renegade Chapters. Please!

Bad Company 2 and CoD make me rage a bit, but that's because of other people (spawn-camping, aimbot and the like). What really infuriates me is Soul Calibur IV.

That game is utterly fucking broken. If a good enough player has the Apprentice or Cervantes, they can never lose. Not fucking ever. After the third spam-tastic PERFECT round in a row my friend won on me I hurled my controller into the street.

Seriously, Cervantes can eat a dick.

my "Fuck you moment" is in MGS4 were i sneak past everyone then the last guy pops up right in front of you and sounds the alert. took me like 200 tries just to get past the first act and when i remembered i had 4 more to go i just dropped the controller and walked away.

I was playing Mass Effect 1 and spent half an hour exploring this snow-covered planet that was pissing me off cos it was a constant blizzard and the screen was hazy and I couldn't see shit.

Anyway, after exploring every nook and cranny, I got to the mission place (to finish the planet and never return), killed a bunch of dudes and there was this glowing orb of light under a tree or something and, like an insect, walked over to try and touch it...I walked off of this rock and into a shallow pit (about 1m deep). Anyway, I was stuck! Couldn't move, couldnt get out of the pit I tried shooting and throwing a grenade but it was hopeless. I saved it and reloaded but I was still in the goddam pit.

Ended up having to reload an auto-save...at the beginning of the planet!!! I had to do the whole thing again! So yeah... FUCK YOU XAWIN!

I stopped playing the game for a while then got back into it...can't wait for ME3!

Whatever mission it is in Saints Row 2 that requires you to get on a jet ski to go out to a yacht, and as soon as you ride for 2 seconds an attack copter blows you up with a guided missile, sending you straight back to your hideout to drive all the way back out to the place and get blown up within 2 seconds again. I will probably never touch that game again because of that.

And also Operation: Darkness. I wanted a decent WW2 turn-based tactical game. Who let all these werewolves and vampires and crap in? *shakes fist*

Portal 2 crashed a several points in the game, but I restarted and jumped back in anyway... even though I know it would probably be better to wait a week for them to iron out the kinks, but I don't want my friends to have completed it before I do.

Lol, well I only meant attempting games immediately after decryption; with all those games I said "Fuck you game" and kept persisting til I could finally get it up and running (longest that took was Left 4 Dead 2, finally got to playing 2 hours after release, I was pissed. . .). After that, however, I've pretty much never experienced any sort of problems with any of those games. Calm always follows the storm, I guess.
