I nearly rage quit over final fantasy X for their sigils, but not because the Sigils are hard to get. They are hard to obtain mind you but this is basically what happened.

I was doing the chocobo races to try and get Tidus' ultimate weapon activated, and after four hours my best time was still 2.3 seconds. So I said fuck it, and decided to try a different character's sigil.

So I went to the thunder plains, and got 187 jumps. 187, just 13 away from the amount I actually needed. Then boom, I didn't press at the right time, and I lost the count.

So finally I said fuck it, and just decided to do something a little easier and do some monster catching in the game. Well I got five of all monsters and unlocked one of the original creations that gives you 60 dark matter for unlocking. Wanting to see what Dark Matter does, I scrolled through and saw "Break Weapon Damage Limit," the ONE FUCKING FEATURE ANYONE EVER GETS FOR ULTIMATE WEAPONS!

I nearly threw my controller at my TV in a fit of rage.

After that, I simply calmed down, and went to an online site that details the 4 specific abilities of each ultimate weapon and discovered that I could just easily frigging build them if I wanted, and I did.

So yeah, in case anyone still plays FFX and is frustrated beyond belief trying to get the sigils, don't bother. Dark Matter is easier to obtain. Just beat the ever loving shit out of Catastrophe a bunch of times with Anima or something.
You're gonna hate me for this but the reason for unlocking the ultimate weapons isn't for the weapons itself (you're right in that you can just craft the equivalent effects) but to unlock the break the damage limit for most of the Aeons. Seeing as some of the monster Arena battles essentially require it, there's no real substitute.
This is not true. I don't mean I disagree with you, I mean that you are factually wrong.

The hard to get items for ultimate weapons are the Sigils, which unlock damage limits for a character's weapon, and this is just as obtainable with dark matter.

To unlock damage limits with Valefor, Ifrit, Ixion, and Shiva, you need only the crests, not the sigils, which the crests are FAR easier to obtain.

Further, With Valefor, Ifrit, Shiva and Ixion being pretty much entirely useless compared to Anima or the Magus Sisters, it is not even remotely required for the Arena.

The only use those four Aeons serve once you get to the monster Arena is damage-soaking.

Half Life 2
After escaping the lab with Dog's help, and traveling to ravenholm. I come across the (elevator?) shaft with the locked ladder in it.

Not noticing the padlock. I simply stack up boxes until I can reach the part that ISN'T locked.
Still can't grab it.
After an hour of a half of stacking-restacking and jumping. I finally notice the padlock.
Shoot it.
Save, quit. Cry.

Oh, and lava + diamonds.

Every VALVe game I've preordered, on release night. . .

Episode 2, Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Portal 2, ALL had 4-5 issues that hindered me from playing once they were released. Be it missing files, decryption failure, "updating" the game (when its really redownloading the whole thing).

And it's only VALVe games, Deus Ex, Bad Company 2, Borderlands, BioShock 2, decrypted and launched within 20 minutes of them being released. Meh. Fuck you VALVe.
All my Valve games on the Source Engine randomly freeze with looping audio. Like when I was about to backstab a Heavy in TF2.

Bought Dead Island. Played it sporadically for a week while not at college or anything. Spent a long time meticulously playing through the first act, liking the visceral first-person melee and interesting, beautiful locations of the resort.

Reach Act 2. Get bogged down in generic ruined cityscape and sprawling sewers. Notice that all indoor sections, such as the massively copy-pasted and thorougly confusing sewers levels don't appear on the pause menu's map. Notice that the mini-map's pathfinding is awful, frequently directing me through impassible obstacles or even in the straight up wrong direction. Disheartened.

Continue Act 2. Find myself being put through multiple missions where I'm made to fight looters instead of zombies. Notice that looters have guns and break the melee-oriented flow horribly. Steal gun. Notice that guns physics are awful and that all pistols jerk uncontrollably when iron-sighted, meaning I have to use a revolver with vastly inferior stats. Get killed lots as a result.

Find self sick of fighting looters over and over again, tired of same 3 character models coming at me for missions on end. Finally reach zombie portion, get excited. Zombie shambles up to me, moaning and hunchbacked. Zombie stops about 10 yards away, suddely straightens up and produces a machete. Zombie throws machete at me, a moving target, with ninja-like accuracy. Get insta-killed by flying machete. Much rage ensues.

Reach Act 3. Notice that pathfinding in jungle levels is even worse, and that going off the path in this "open-world" game leads very quickly to being coralled by invisible walls. Grudgingly stick to linear path. Hardly any zombies in the jungle. Not pleased. Hardly any looters either. Wonder if this is good sign, portent of impending return to melee combat against zombies. Cross fingers.

Continue main quest. Have to fight more humans. Notice they aren't pistol wielding looters. Intrigued. Notice that they're guerrilla fighters with molotovs, AK47s and shotguns. Notice that there's now about 1 zombie to every 10 of these guys. Rage.

Continue playing. Find self driving a jeep about the jungle in first person. Find inventory full of assault rifles instead of melee weapons. Notice that I'm repeatedly driving back and forth in slightly different coloured jeeps between copy-pasted villages and jungle outposts to kill generic guerrilla fighters who notice me coming miles away.

Wonder if I blacked out and someone switched the disc to Far Cry 2 when I wasn't looking.

Turn game off, don't play for several days. Complain about on internet. Fuck you, Dead Island.
Really?
Just really?

Damn.. And to think that I was somewhat interested in that game.
That sounds truly horrible.

Thanks for the warning!
I shan't be getting Dead Island.

Bioshock and Mass Effect.

Bioshock when I got tired of the real lack of any story or character development

Mass Effect when I realized it was just another Bland sci-fi series.

Trollers gonna troll...
Now that's a bit unfair don't you think? I was just answering the thread with my own answer.

Crysis 2,because of those stupid motherfucking alien giant-thingies that can only be hurt when shot at the back, take a lot of abuse before going down, deal YOU a lot of damage, can bring your energy from 100% down to 0% in a flash, have other aliens running around being assholes and make you run around everywhere looking for a rocket launcher which still has to shoot 20 billion rockets at the thing before it falls and dies. The first time I met these fuckers I didn't even know if I was doing damage or not.Turns out I wasn't.Well,I finally got to the 2nd one.It was annoying getting one of these giant fuckers again, but nothing game-breaking.BUT WHEN THEY STARTED APPEARING ALL THE FUCKING TIME AND I KEPT DYING I just told the game to fuck itself, and left it alone to rot in oblivion. It wasn't even that good anyways :/

Yea, that just because the Source engine is surprisingly, and notoriously unstable. But it arguably has the best physics in any engine to date, so I can't complain.

Phantom Brave. I'm a huge Disgaea fan so I figured I'd love this game. I got it near release on PS2 many years back. It was entertaining at first until I realized that after a set number of turns your summoned phantoms vanish from the battlefield. It made the game utterly frustrating for me and I eventually just gave up on the game.

Another factor was the gridless movement. I thought this would be awesome, but in reality it just made the game that much more frustrating to line up your phantoms in the right position instead of simply using a grid system.

I have no clue why this game got not 1, but 2 different ports.

I stand corrected. It's been a while since I played the game.

Final mark in FFXII (Yiazmat?)
First time I fought Nevan in DMC3 (dunno why either! Now I can beat her no problem but the first time sucked!)

I had one earlier today, I was trying to do a challenge in Red Dead Redemption's Multiplayer where you have to do four gang-hideouts in 36 in-game hours without dying. I had cleared Gaptooth-Breach and Solomon's Folly no problem, I'd avoided other players who may have given me problems, and I'd done Tesoro Azul with a couple of close shaves. Now the time came for the last one; Nosalida. It's a pretty easy hideout if you're alert, and you can take out most of the enemies with a long-range weapon with no troubles. I had taken out all the reinforcements, all the attack dogs, and it was just me vs. two mooks at the back of the town. "I've friggin' got this." I thought. I turned round to face the house they were holed up in... raised my rifle... and my connection shit itself, dumping me back into single-player.

To quote Yahtzee:

"THERE IS NO MIDDLE FINGER BIG ENOUGH!!"

The last 2 stages of dead space 2 did that to me just because they are so goddamn cheap, nothing like fighting one horde of necros after another with no item machine or save point inbetween.
Easiest way past it?

Run...

Just run. I tried fighting them, but it was so much easier just to hold the run button and, y'know, run.

OT: I'm gonna go with playing Gears of War 3 online and having some asshole team just sitting outside the spawn point and letting your team keep spawning there, and murdering you EVERY time you spawn.

It's a fast way for me to quit the game.

God, Assassin's Creed, when you try and kill Majd Addin. I was trying to do it 'right' and use the scholars to get to the stage, and I'm cool with the fact that the guards are pretty sensitive here, but those fucking lepers kept shoving me and the fact I didn't put a knife through the screen after about the fifth time was a pretty big surprise to me.

Alternatively, Halo 3/Reach Multiplayer, Snipers. Seriously, just fuck off.

Splosion Man. There are just some stages that I repeatedly attempt and die on. Eventually I get so pissed I just say "Fuck you" and turn it off. Sure there's the "coward's road" option, but I refuse to do that.

Lost planet 2.
Christ it sucked. Boring, bad gameplay and just stumbled around the map all the time.
Returned it and got Halo Reach instead.

Valkyria Chronicles. As much as I liked it when my team stopped missing every crucial shot, around the middle of the game when you had to kill enemies in one round in order to avoid being utterly murdered and your team had the accuracy of melty butter with an assault rifle, along with the enemies having disproportionate dodge rates, the game pissed me off so much.

"OK, Alicia. You need to make this shot or else this Shocktrooper is going to fill you with enough bullets to kill you twice over. Let's do it!"
*Wiff*
"God, dammit. I guess I'm going to reload my save..."
-Repeat many, many times with increasing annoyance-

trying to get a pokemon with the nature i want in LeafGreen, there are 25 natures and i always get a Modest Drowzee but it's random what nature they have. it's SO annoying when i get other natures 4 or 5 times. the worst time i got 4 of the other natures 4 or 5 times each. a number of times i've gotten fed up with it and turned it off but i stick with it until i get the modest one i want
