while watching videos on youtube, i was watching a demo coverage on fable 2,
now besides the game being able to turn your own mind against you, you seem to be able to buy almost anything you want (by anything i MEAN anything towns castles dungeons' and even poeple).

So anyway watching the demo it seems the AI of every charcter in the world is beyond control.
imagine a whole town of virtual people beying controled like xbox live.
so they have created AI that has it own mind and heart and feeling. you cant just say bad things to them they would round up a mob and mainly kill you.

so making your life harder in the game being ion run for the whole game isn't realy a good move. making moves like that you have to itmidate the people around you, making sure the ruling power before you go and nick somebody right off.

anyway besides it making it look like eldor scrolls the seconded, they have instead taken the last game and eveoled it 500 hundred years so for fable fans you will see ll your favorite towns and no HEROS GUILD yay!!!

Now of couse there will be the legend of your past hero tale and how he saved or destroyed the world

you based your review on a demo you watched on youtube.

Please stop writing reviews. They're awful, filled with terrible grammatical mistakes, and they look like they've been written by a 2nd grader.

I hate you.

The end. :D

Fable fans? stop speaking of mythic creatures please....

and seriously, it might be good that you attempt at writing something, but you could at least TRY to spell something right, for fuck sake just use word or something to spell check, its just god awefull to read any of your posts and your not improving at all.

Then theres the fact that your reviewing things that cant be reviewed in the first place. How do you review a 5 minute trailer? copy paste what they say?

exactly, dont trust in trailers and somes reviews, if you want make a review you have to play the game, at least you did that with WoW, besides, after of the crazy promises that yahtzee told in his review of the first one, i dont think this could make a diference

Hhahaha, yeah, because Yahtzee's word is gospel. Go join a cult or something if you if you want to follow so badly.

I don't get the negativity for Fable, it didn't have all the stuff it was promised but it was kinda fun and very "sweet", as much as a game about killing, death and magic can be.

Judging a game creator by his last games is not realy that much better than judging it by trailers....

@soladrin and MacCarth: All of his other reviews have stated up front, and in the subject, that they were reviews. Unless he says otherwise, I was under the impression that he wasn't trying to review it, just to throw out what he knew about it and maybe start a conversation.

@soladrin: Per spelling, let he who has no sin cast the first stone. IE, spellcheck your own posts before calling someone else out on the same.

OT: I actually sort of enjoyed Fable, and I think it's related to the fact that I was never touched by the hype machine prior to its release. If Fable 2 turns out to be better, than I think I will enjoy it as well.

I hope this turns out to be a good game because the first one left me kind of hanging, I mean I don't want to say it was bad but the game's potential wasn't even half exploited.

I'm pretty excited for Fable 2. I thought the last one was quite good, regardless of whether or not it fulfilled its wild promises. The development team is certainly ambitious, and I think they've got some great ideas for this one. We'll see what happens, but even a straight next-gen upgrade of the last one would be fine with me.

Again, he wasn't trying to review anything this time. So, if general posts don't require spell-checking, then his didn't require it this time either. But, on the other hand, I think posters in general, regardless of whether they're starting a topic, or responding to it, should pay attention to spelling AND grammar. To quote from the forum guidelines, "Bad spelling and improper grammar physically hurts us, precious." Oh, and come on, no need for epithets, right? I'm actually on your side as far as MGG-REVIEWS using better spelling and grammar, but I'm just trying to point out that hypocrisy won't get anyone very far.

Is anyone else slightly sceptical about the whole 'having a dog you will feel love for' mechanic. I don't know about you, but the first thing I'd do with a (virtual) dog is see how much abuse I can pour out on it before it runs away. Perhaps I'm just twised...
I'm certainly skeptical about how well they can possibly pull it off. In addition, if he wants to get rid of the intrusive/hard-to-believe radar, and replace it with an omniscient dog that knows where everything is? Yeah, may not work that well.

Personally, I've got a thing against hurting virtual dogs. I hated it in Wolfenstein 3D, and was pretty mad when it turned out that tranq-ing the German Shepherds in Deus Ex didn't knock them out, it just killed them. So, when I play the game, I'm going to try pretty hard to be nice to my dog. I don't think I could take the beaten thing trailing me everywhere through the game world.

Anyway, about abusing the dog, maybe that as an option would be a good thing.
If you're character is a known abuser of the dog, people might like you less, maybe the dog will be more reluctant to help you. Maybe it's less of an all knowing element, and more of a clever element to help flesh out your place in the world. Hopefully atleast.
From what I've read, treating the dog badly, and leaving it behind will be an option. Your treatment of the dog is supposed to influence the way other people deal with you (I would imagine, if I were programming it, that I would have some people react differently to how you treat your dog, i.e., some people that warm up to you because you beat your dog, and others that shy away from you or shun you for it. If I were feeling really kinky, I'd even mix it up so that some positively aligned characters reacted positively to a beaten dog, and vice versa. Just because you're a bad guy, doesn't mean you didn't love a puppy as a child. And just because you're a good guy, doesn't mean a dog didn't bite your thumb off when you were child.) The dog will never give up on you though, and will always go wherever you are. As far as being all-knowing, my understanding is that one of the dog's purposes is to eliminate the mini-map, by pointing the way to objectives, etc.

If they would just shut Molineux up, this game might just be not a great disappointment. The man loves to make wild promises he just can't live up to, which is a shame.

Also, what's up with the dog? How about all the cat-loving people? If the game gives me a dog, I'll sell it to some NPC who actually cares about dogs.

And I'm curious how the leaving the dog behind will work. Imagine NPC's telling each other "Oh look, a stranger about whom we don't know anything entered our town, and he has no dog at all! The cruel bastard must have left it behind somewhere!"

Since the dog is also radar and combat aide, leaving him behind would be handicapping yourself. Just like playing evil screwed you over twice when playing Black & White.
