So Fable 3 is going to be less of an RPG and more of an... I don't know what. (See forum discussion http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.174722-Fable-3-news-from-one-Peter-Molyneux )

Also, we know that Peter Molyneux will incorporate Project Natal into his game. He sees this technology as "bigger change" than the computer mouse.

I see these two phenomenon as coming together to make a commercial failure. If Natal is an integral part of gameplay, I don't see how this will work in the marketplace. Fable fans (who, I know, were admittedly pleased with an RPG-lite in games 1 and 2) seem unlikely to purchase an $80 peripheral to play something that is being shaping up to be Fantasy Sims. Meanwhile, "casual" gamers who might be drawn to Natal are not about to pick up a third installment of something they probably weren't interested in the first two times around.

If Natal is an add-on to Fable 3, something that you can bring into the game for new effects but isn't required for normal gameplay, then it might work. Otherwise, I think flop. Agree, disagree? Have I misjudged Project Natal? Mis-categorized the Fable loyal? Or is Peter Molyneaux a liar and I should disregard all that he says?

Fable 3 and Natal both will be unbelievably big flops. I'm sorry, but why do they keep trying these "motion sensor" controllers?

They don't work, they just make most gamers (who aren't know for their physical fitness) worn out and stop caring.

Just, give it up, console developers.

I absolutely HATED Fable 2* so I'm not looking forward to this one.

*I hated it becaus the point of a RPG is to start out small and weak and slowly progress until you overcome the final boss. In Fable you can't do that because you never fucking die

I'm sorry, I cannot read that word without picturing babies or childbirth or whatever. It's not pronounce 'nat-tarl' dammit, it's pronounced 'nay-tal'.

I'm willing to give Natal a chance. I have no problem with getting off my ass. Lionhead, however, is out of chances after the snoozefest that was Fable 2.

Honestly, its going to take a while to see how Natal plays out. Not all games are going to use it, and the 360 already has a large embedded "hardcore" gamer market so it's not going to be all motion-control ping pong and what not. Let's not freak out too much.

Wow My xbox picked a great time to die now i don't have to be disappointed by that piece of steaming shit Peter is going to hand us and say it's a masterpiece. It doesn't even sounds like an rpg anymore. He should have stopped after the Fable the lost chapters that was the last decent fable he made.

I think he Lionhead did deliver on what Molyneaux had promised (albeit they made him shut his maw for most of Fable II).
I'm a fan of Fable and it's sequel. But only see Fable III working is if it does as you said, use Natal with immense care. It might be a fun gimmick, but I doubt Natal can deliver beyond that (keep in mind I still feel the same way about motion controls, they don't do anything that can't be done with a controller and they certainly don't do much of anything amazingly well with what games are now).

Can't wait to see how his changes work. They look incredibly interesting.

I wont be getting Natal because i already have a motion-sensoring game system and that's the Wii. If anything i'll buy a "Shut up the Molyneux" game
